They preempted that for this?

Per some South Carolinian fans in the show's Facebook group, CBS affiliate WBTW Myrtle Beach also re-aired yesterday's episode of WOF, and they also made the same mistake with Jeopardy! afterwards. (WBFF did air the correct episode of Jeopardy!)

Strange mistake for two widely separated stations to make on the same day. I wonder what happened and if any other stations were involved. You'd think it had something to do with the feed.

Also, have you ever heard of a station being so sensitive to complaints from obsessive viewers that it would refuse to air the last five minutes of a syndicated show -- and fill the time with commercials that hadn't been scheduled to run at that time?

Indeed. The idea of some mass outcry from aggrieved fans causing a station to go black for five minutes...that’s comical.

If it's so prevalent, I hope WOF has some fun with it and gives its contestants a "What are you doing?" puzzle that works out to "COMPLAINING TO THE TELEVISION STATION" or "OBSESSING OVER WHEEL OF FORTUNE"!

Geez. The reason I said that was because the Baltimore-local contestant is a friend of mine and he said that the blackout happened right after his dad angrily called the station because of the mixup. Excuse me for leaving that important detail out...

Anyway, WBFF announced they will air Tuesday's episode Saturday at 7:00 in place of Family Guy before the FOX MLB pregame.

The Erie County Executive Debate on WIVB/CBS 4 in Buffalo last night bumped Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! to sister station WNLO/CW 23, though they were still listed as Inside Edition and TMZ.

Today is the one-year anniversary of the day Hurricane Michael made landfall in the Florida Panhandle, so at least two affiliates in that area aired local specials tonight.

WJHG in Panama City, FL (NBC) aired a two-hour special from 5:00-7:00 PM Central, pre-empting the classic 5-7 Central quartet of Local news/National news/Local news/Wheel of Fortune. NBC Nightly News and WOF are not re-airing at all.

WTVY in Dothan, AL (CBS) aired a one-hour special from 6:00-7:00, also pre-empting one local newscast and WOF. Tonight's episode of WOF is delayed to 2:29 AM Friday night/Saturday morning, usually a Paid Programming slot. (WTVY has three sister stations: MyTV, CW, and NBC. Usually, they move WOF to CW, though it still usually airs in a late-night slot for some reason. Guess watered-down Family Guy reruns are more important at 6:30 on CW.)

Fox's Big Noon Kickoff college football pregame show started at 9 AM CT this morning, an hour earlier than usual, which is odd considering that they have a game at 11 AM but no late afternoon game and the ALCS baseball playoff game for tonight. WHBQ Fox 13 in Memphis is running Fox's normal Saturday morning E/I shows this afternoon starting at 2 PM or after football, and WJKT Fox 16 in Jackson, TN showed their E/I shows early starting at 6 AM and are running infomercials this afternoon. :(

Actually, it turns out WJHG, like WTVY, delayed Thursday's episode of WOF to late Friday night/Saturday morning. They aired it at 2:00 AM in the first Paid Programming slot of the night.

As for the Tuesday mix-up with WBFF Baltimore and WBTW Myrtle Beach, WBFF did indeed air Tuesday's WOF before the Yankees game (although by now, the local contestant's family and friends caught it on YouTube, I imagine :p). WBTW did not make up the episode, from what I found. On Wednesday, they aired the correct episode, and there's no way to know if they would have replaced the Saturday rerun with the Tuesday episode, because Saturday's airing is slotted at 7:00 PM Eastern which got pre-empted by SEC overrun. Strangely, even though WBTW keeps Wheel in the seldom-aired 7:00 slot, Jeopardy! gets bumped from 7:30 to Sunday night/Monday morning at midnight, with 7:30 replaced with an infomercial, which still airs even if the overrun pre-empts WOF. Perhaps they move WOF to 12:30 AM Monday in this scenario (WBNS Columbus does this, but with the two shows flip-flopped; J! airs late Sunday after WOF in place of infomercials if it doesn't get to air after SEC), but I doubt it. Not sure if WBTW made up Tuesday's Jeopardy! or plans to air it tomorrow night in place of the rerun; there was no announcement from either station about any makeups of the shows.

Forgot to mention that WBZ Boston pre-empted WOF twice this week and Jeopardy! once. The weekly Patriots All Access show was moved from Friday to Wednesday in anticipation of their TNF game this week, so both WOF and Jeopardy! got pre-empted Wednesday but did air in their normal slots on Friday for the first time this season. WOF was also pre-empted on Thursday due to a Pats pregame show on WBZ. Jeopardy! aired at its normal time, I imagine so that any pregame coverage from WBZ wouldn't overlap with FOX's. Ironically, Thursday's episode of WOF featured a segment with Pat and Vanna in Boston promoting a local restaurant. So far this season alone, WBZ has pre-empted WOF a total of 11 times counting the weekend reruns (which don't air at all if pre-empted, although the weekday eps always air after Corden), and Jeopardy! 5 times.

CBS's SEC game overran to 7:30 Eastern once again, as it has every Saturday so far this season. I knew it was coming when I tuned in at 6:30 and saw that the third quarter had just finished.

As for the nighttime network sporting events, NBC's College Football game managed to end just in time with the clock running out at 10:58 and signing off at 11:00 (WNBC's news began at 11:02). ABC's College Football overran to 11:15, and FOX's MLB (with the Yankees shutting out the Astros 7-0) did not sign off until 11:35.

NBC's game began at 7:30 Eastern tonight, pre-empting weekend syndies in most cases. O&O's WNBC New York and WVIT Hartford both lost 1st Look. WTHR Indianapolis is one of a few stations carrying the Jeopardy!/Wheel of Fortune duo that has a policy of putting J! in WOF's time slot if it's pre-empted, meaning that J! was moved up from 7:30 to 7:00 before the game. When this happens on a weekday, WOF usually gets moved to sister station WALV/MeTV, but this time, it got moved to 1:42 AM on NBC in a Paid Programming slot. WLIO in Lima, OH is one of the very few WOF/J! affiliates that does not carry the weekend reruns of either show (only 3 do not carry Weekend WOF year-round; I know of at least 5 that do not carry Weekend Jeopardy!). They instead air the hour-long weekend edition of Inside Edition from 7-8. However, since College Football cuts the time slot in half, WLIO aired a repeat of their 6:00 newscast at 7:00 before tonight's game.

NBC's Notre Dame game sometimes runs over and I've seen the entire "Jeopardy!" episode get pre-empted, though more often is joined in progress. The game was in prime time last night and "Wheel" apparently got dumped. No big deal for me because I'm not any good at Hangman.

Thankfully, if a game does run over, NBC doesn't pad postgame to the next half-hour interval like CBS does, and like KGO does with After the Game. Just a quick interview or two, and then they bid goodbye.

Since last night's game started at 7:30, several cities lost Wheel that night (some lost Jeopardy! instead, but given Wheel's 6:30 exclusivity in Central Time, that show was lost in more cities). Some didn't air it at all, and others moved it to late night or Sunday morning or afternoon. A couple even moved it earlier to Saturday afternoon.

On these reruns, I like to pay attention to the contestants' hometowns and I get curious as to whether they would be able to catch their reappearance back home (Wheel contestants aren't notified if their episode will rerun; they would have to check for themselves). The red contestant was from Englewood, FL, meaning he watches on either WTSP Tampa (CBS) or WBBH Fort Myers (NBC) depending on his provider. WTSP's airing was pre-empted by the SEC overrun, but WBBH did air it before the game at 7:00 Eastern. Yellow player was from a town outside of Little Rock, and KATV (ABC) bumps it to 12:35 AM Central during CF season, possibly bumped a little later when the nighttime game overruns. Blue player was from Metairie, just outside New Orleans, and would watch Wheel on WVUE (FOX), which pre-empted Saturday's airing entirely due to the MLB pregame starting at 6:30 Central, and unlike most weekends with sporting conflicts, Wheel was not moved to late-night or Sunday.

Tomorrow's MNF game is Green Bay vs. Detroit.

Green Bay is airing the game on local FOX affiliate WLUK. Pregame starts at 6:00 PM Central, and the game runs to 10:30, pre-empting the time slots for Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, 9-1-1, Prodigal Son, and two newscasts. Jeopardy! and Wheel move up an hour early to 5/5:30, replacing the 5:00 newscast. One hour of news (compared to the usual 90 minutes) will air after the game, pre-empting Seinfeld and DailyMailTV. FOX's 9-1-1 is delayed to 11:30, replacing another DailyMailTV and Live PD: Police Patrol. Prodigal Son follows at 12:30 AM, replacing an infomercial and The King of Queens.

Detroit is airing the game on ABC affiliate WXYZ. Pregame starts at 7:00 Eastern, pre-empting a local newscast and The List. After the game, local news runs all the way to Nightline at 12:37, pre-empting Jimmy Kimmel Live! entirely. Dancing With the Stars is delayed to 1:07 AM in place of Right This Minute, DailyMailTV, the overnight repeat of The List (meaning both airings are lost that day), and joining ABC World News Now in progress. The Good Doctor is delayed to 1:07 AM Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.

Don't forget about Milwaukee which since they are still considered a Primary market for Green Bay (dating back to the days they played there) they are allowed to simulcast on a local station. WISN 12 is carrying the game

today's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race from Talladega Superspeedway got stopped at lap 57 for rain and NASCAR decided to end the day early and postponed the remainer of the race to tomorrow afternoon, the race was meant to go 188 laps. the race was airing on NBC today, but tomorrow, all Monday afternon programming begining at 2 PM ET will be preempted in favor of the coverage of the remainer of the race to air without preempting NBC programming.

Most sources are saying the remainder of the race will air only on NBCSN and not NBC.

Yesterday's Panthers-Tampa Bay game aired on the Fox affiliate in Charlotte. The TiVo listing called it "Thursday Night Football". I wondered why instead of a movie the My Network station was airing the Fox pre-game show but when I got home from church the game was still going on, so that's why. The two stations are co-owned.

Every year, WABC New York broadcasts the New York City Columbus Day Parade from 12-3 PM. GMA3 at 1 and Rachael Ray at 2 were moved to 7.2 Live Well Network, with the latter network's program titles still listed.

The Kentucky Gubernatorial Debate aired tonight on Lexington's CBS affiliate WKYT from 7-8 PM Eastern, bumping Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! to its .2 CW sub, replacing two episodes of Family Feud. One of those Feuds was moved up to 12 PM in place of Paid Programming.

Omaha ABC affiliate KETV aired a special on charity Project CommUNITY tonight at 6:30 Central, bumping WOF to its .2 MeTV sub in place of M*A*S*H.
