Didn’t catch it today, but hoping to sometime soon.
One initial though going into that: though bringing back a familiar name is one thing, trying to recreate the overall style is a different one. 98 may be playing the same music (give or take of course) as it did in the hot hits days. But it doesn’t sound like it did outside the music, and I’m not sure it would make sense to try. The audience may in marge measure have grown up with 98 or its peers, but that doesn’t mean enough want to hear the same presentation, just some of the same music.
If the rest of the day is tailored to the more traditional classic hits style, a glaringly different morning show might not work. I mean, Ross Brittan didn’t do the same style on 98 that he did on Eagle. Don Cannon wasn’t even replicating Cannon & Company by the time he arrived there.
