They preempted that for this?

Yesterday KARE 11 NBC Minneapolis did not show the new episode of Jeopardy at 4:30pm. Instead they showed their documentary "Love them First....Lessons from Lucy Laney" (which was shown previously on Tegna stations) from 4-5:30pm (4 to 4:50 and 5-5:30 is normally news).

they did not show it at all. OH THE HORROR! WE NEED TO PROTEST KARE FOR NOT SHOWING JEOPARDY!!!

They are deliberately disrespecting a man with a terminal illness!!! PROTEST!!! BOYCOTT!!! It's Jeopardy! that should be preempting other scheduled programming whenever possible, not the other way around!!!! I can't use ENOUGH capital letters and exclamation points to GET MY POINT ACROSS!!!!!!!!

As for New York, WNBC did the same thing as WVIT: no news from 4-6, Access Daily/Kelly/Ellen slide back two hours, and "The World's Funniest Moments" and "The Top 12 Greatest Christmas Movies of All Time" aired at 1 and 2.

WCBS, WNYW (FOX), and WWOR (MyTV) did not pre-empt anything yesterday.

WABC did not move the syndies pre-empted by NBA to Live Well Network (Rachael Ray, Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune). Although KETV in Omaha did move WOF to 7.2 MeTV despite M*A*S*H still be listed.

ABC's final NBA game overran to about 10:40 Eastern. The East Coast JIP'd a rerun of black-ish. Most of the West Coast slid back their prime access shows (both 7:00 and 7:30) to primetime, although a few kept the regular program at 7:30 which was JIP'd, including O&O KFSN Fresno and KATU Portland, which had WOF.

KABC Los Angeles followed the game with an hour-long postgame show "Slam Dunk". After it was over, the black-ish rerun aired in full from 8:40-9:10, so Jeopardy! got JIP'd during the contestant interviews. KGO San Francisco only scheduled Localish filler from 7:30-8:30, so black-ish and J! (and WOF) all aired as scheduled uninterrupted.

Zap2It's listings for ABC Alaska oddly showed only ABC reruns in the post-game primetime slots (6:30 - Paid Programming/7:00 - Goldbergs/7:30 - Schooled/8:00 - Modern Family/8:30 - Single Parents/9:00 - 20/20). Only PP and 20/20 were correct according to TitanTV and what actually aired. 7:00 was black-ish, and 7:30-9:00 was a game show triple threat of Family Feud/J!/WOF.

Evening impeachment coverage pre-emptions varied depending on the network.

ABC took a break from 6-7 for local news and World News Tonight, then resumed afterward. All Eastern ABC's pre-empted the 7-8 hour with mandatory coverage. WABC New York, WPVI Philly, and WTVD Raleigh all moved Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune to the .2 Live Well Network subs. WLS Chicago moved J! there, but bumped WOF to 1:35 AM.

CBS apparently expanded CBS Evening News to an hour with the second half being optional. Live impeachment coverage resumed at 7:30, but that portion was also optional, but many affiliates aired the regular 7:00 programming and then switched to the coverage at 7:30, including WCBS New York, which aired Inside Edition in full at 7:00, then cut to the coverage during Entertainment Tonight's intro. WFMY Greensboro was among the few stations that aired programming at both 7:00 and 7:30 (WOF/J!).

NBC aired nonstop coverage until 9:00, pre-empting one of two episodes of Ellen's Greatest Night of Giveaways. The portion from 7-8 was optional. Some affiliates like WXIA Atlanta aired the regular shows (WOF/J!), while others like WCNC Charlotte (same shows but reversed) aired the coverage throughout. WNBC went the latter route in lieu of Access Hollywood and All Access, although they did break away from the hearings from 5-6 for local news.

ABC and CBS signed off at 8:00, but both cut in for about 7 minutes during the 8:30 slot (pausing the live special on ABC) to announce the impeachment result.

Denver FOX affiliate KDVR aired at least some coverage. Social media reports that at least some (probably all) of Jeopardy! at 6:00 was pre-empted, and WOF was joined in progress in time for the Bonus Round, which would have been around 6:53 Mountain Time.
I was just looking at the ratings for last week and it seems the "Survivor" live cast reunion didn't start until 10:30. So did it get cut short?

I wasn't watching, but I believe CBS and ABC both strategically timed their break-ins and the shows themselves so that no content was lost. Of course, it was easier for ABC since it was live. But I do know that ABC usually "pauses" The Bachelor on the East Coast when it conflicts with the State of the Union.

Two Louisiana CBS affiliates are airing a special on the LSU Tigers in the Peach Bowl titled "Eye on the Title" tonight at 6:30 PM Central.

WAFB in Baton Rouge, the producer of the special, is pre-empting Family Feud entirely. This is the third of three consecutive airings of the show; the first two are at 5:00 and 5:30 on MyTV sister WBXH.

KNOE in Monroe is bumping Wheel of Fortune to 12:37 AM, replacing Extra. Both game shows have reruns this week.

I think the "Survivor" cast reunion is live, so technically content may have been lost because it never happened.

With Bowl games on FOX (Monday) and CBS (Tuesday) some stuff gets shifted around in Mankato

RedBox Bowl is on Monday from 2:30-6:30 (CST). That moves some syndicated programming around on KEYC-DT2 FOX

America Says from 3:30pm to 10:30am (replacing 2nd episode of Protection Court)
Jeopardy rerun from 4:30pm to 1pm (replaces 2nd run of Peoples Court)
25 words or less from 3pm to 1:30pm (replaces 2nd run of Peoples Court)

KMSP Minneapolis moves Dr Oz from 3pm to 12:35am that night. Other programming not shown is TMZ Live (at 2), 2 episodes of Judge Judy (4 & 4:30pm) and then news

Tuesday is the Sun Bowl on CBS from 1-5pm CST. The only syndicated shows that would be preempted on WCCO Minneapolis and KEYC Mankato are Ellen and Phil (as the Talk is on at 1 and Deal is on at 2)
KEYC Mankato moves Phil from 3pm on KEYC to 1pm on KEYC-DT2 (replacing the mentioned 2nd run of Peoples Court)..Ellen is not shown
WCCO Minneapolis moves both shows to 12:37am (Phil) and 1:37am (Ellen) that night

What would happen if The saints are in the ESPN wildcard game?

Got a Quick one, concerning the New Orleans Market and the Saints:

*If the Saints wind up the #3 Seed and play the Vikings.

*AND that winds up as the ESPN Game:

*AND given that WDSU-TV6 (NBC)has a Contract bound with ESPN through Hearst (Hearst has 20% in ESPN)

*EVENTHOUGH ABC is going to Simulcast:

*Would WDSU-TV6 (NBC) be eligible to air the game? or will TV6 be out in the dark and Not allowed to air due to the ABC network simulcasting?

the ESPN game is simulcast on ABC. Thats it

So there is nothing WDSU can do, since ABC is simulcasting.

yup. That is only for the regular season and technically during the regular season ABC O&O's and Hearst stations have first right of refusal (so its not automatic)

And now its a moot point as Nawlins/Vikes are the Sunday FOX game at noon

Other affiliates can probably still air pregame specials though. WVUE/FOX almost-always airs Saints pregames even though they rarely carry the non-TNF games themselves.

FOX had 8 Saints games this year. When you're a good team you get more national broadcasts than a crummy team ;)
If they werent good it would be probably 12 games on FOX

Looking at the totals Washington and Arizona led with 13 FOX appearances. Atlanta, Detroit and Giants had 12

Only teams to not have 10 appearances on FOX. Green Bay (9) & New Orleans (8)

Since the Redbox Bowl pregame show at 3:30 cuts The People's Court in half on WNYW/FOX 5 NY, 3:00 is the 2020 FOX Winter Preview today. Other shows pre-empted today are TMZ Live at 4, TMZ at 6:30, Extra at 7:00, and potentially Big Bang Theory at 7:30 if there's overrun.

None of those shows' broadcasts are being made up. People's Court also airs on MyTV sister WWOR at 1:00 PM, though it's a different run. TMZ Live re-airs at midnight on WWOR, TMZ re-airs twice at 4:00 AM and 2:00 PM the following weekday on WNYW, and Extra re-airs at 1:30 AM at 2:30 PM.

FOX's game ended around 7:39 Eastern, and they officially signed off at 7:48. WNYW New York JIP'd Big Bang Theory.

Most FOX affiliates that carry the Jeopardy!/Wheel of Fortune duo kept the latter as-is, including WDAF Kansas City which airs WOF at 6:30 Central but doesn't carry Jeopardy!, plus WBFF Baltimore, WVUE New Orleans, WLUK Green Bay, and WALA Mobile. WOF got JIP'd on all of these stations during Round 4 (at which point the game is practically over).

Of all the FOX stations that air WOF at 7:30 ET/6:30 CT, the only one that moved it in advance out of fear of overrun was WLUC-DT2 in Marquette, Michigan. Both Jeopardy! and WOF were bumped to 10:30 and 11:00 PM, replacing a double run of 2 Broke Girls, and a repeat of Family Feud was put at 7:30 instead.

WSYT Syracuse moved both game shows to MyTV sister WNYS, and put a repeat of Judge Judy (usually at 6:30) at 7:30.

WXIX Cincinnati bumped the game shows to 1:05 and 1:35 AM, replacing two episodes of Friends, one of which was moved to 7:30 as post-game filler.

KVHP in Lake Charles, Louisiana bumped the game shows to 10:00 and 10:30 PM Central, replacing two episodes of Modern Family, one of which slid back to 11:00, replacing BBT. All three FOX affiliates that air Jeopardy! in the notorious 7:30 ET/6:30 CT slot moved it in advance.

KDVR Denver had a local newscast scheduled at 5:30 Mountain. Only 10 minutes of news aired so that Jeopardy! could start on time at 6:00.

Tomorrow, CBS is relinquishing Let's Make a Deal for affiliates that air it at 10 AM Eastern. WCBS New York is simply airing two infomercials. WFSB Hartford is airing two episodes of Meredith-produced program "The Southern Living Show" (WCBS is an O&O and WFSB is owned by Meredith).

Pre-empted syndies on WCBS: Dr. Phil at 3:00, Judge Judy x 2 (A and B runs) at 4:00. Dr. Phil also airs on indie sister WLNY at 8:00 PM, but I believe that's a different run. Judge Judy normally airs its C and D runs on WLNY at 10:00 and 10:30 PM, but tomorrow at 10:00 is the beginning of a 23-hour marathon of The Odd Couple, running straight to 9:00 PM 1/1 in place of all other programming. For WFSB: Dr. Oz at 3:00 and local show "Better Connecticut" at 4:00. The rest is news. None of the shows are being made up on either station.

With the NHL Winter classic tomorrow on NBC Mankato's "new" KMNF moves some of the syndicated programming around.

Rachael Ray moves from noon on KMNF to KEYC CBS at 6am (replacing local news)
Kelly Clarkson moves up from 2pm to 5:30am on KMNF (replaces the simulcast of KEYC's news)
Hot Bench moves up from 3pm to 6:30am on KMNF (replacing the last half hour of the news simulcast)

The 2nd Hot Bench episode is not shown. Since KEYC's news in the morning is from 5:30-7am KEYC is showing an episode of "Small Town Big Deal" from 5:30-6am

KENS/CBS San Antonio loses most of their syndies today. Not only due to the national college football game, but the station is also carrying tonight's Spurs/Warriors game from 6-9 Central.

College Football pre-empts Ellen at 3:00 and Jeopardy! at 4:30. They have no syndies until 3:00 PM, with everything beforehand being CBS network shows, news, or local shows. Let's Make a Deal airs at 2:00 after The Talk on this station.

The Spurs game pre-empts Wheel of Fortune at 6:30, NCIS at 7:00, and the first of two episodes of FBI at 8:00. The two primetime shows are bumped to 12:37 and 1:37 AM, replacing Extra at 12:37, Paid Programming at 1:07, and Right This Minute at 1:37. Extra and RTM slide back to 2:37 and 3:07, and CBS Overnight News will be JIP'd at 3:37.

Ellen, Jeopardy!, and Wheel are gone for today. Ellen is in reruns this week while J! and Wheel are new.
