Bozo the Clown actor Bill Britten has died

how many men who played the iconic clown are still alive.

Joey D'Auria (WGN-TV Chicago) is 67. Willard Scott (WRC-TV Washington DC) is 85. There are probably others still around, but most were unknown outside their home markets and I can't find listings for any of them, outside of linkless ones in Wikipedia.

IIRC, Frank Avarusch (then-WHDH-TV Channel 5, Boston) is still alive

There was no local Bozo in Pittsburgh. WPGH would air a version produced by WYAH
in Norfolk, VA, which was Pat Robertson's flagship station for CBN. It was really weird
when Bozo would sit down with a circle of kids, open up a bible and begin reading verses
in that clown voice.

I believe Joey D'Auria took over from Bob Bell who played Bozo originally on WGN-TV.

I am wondering that question too, I know Joey D'Auria that was the second and final actor to have played Bozo in Chicago he is still alive, Bob Bell was the guy that originated the role of Bozo, and he has been dead since the mid 90's. Joey D'Auria over the role of Bozo in Chicago in 1984, after Bob Bell's retirement, I don't know how long the search took, or when he did his first show, or when his first show aired, as by that time the show was airing on tape delay and in mornings for about 4 years. And he had played it for the final 17 yers, before WGN TV the was the Chicago home for Bozo canceled the show altogether.
