VERY nice numbers for WROR. Let's see if WBZ-AM can hold on after the cutbacks and the new lineup. WBOS up a little.

Interesting ... WAAF with a 1.1, also up a bit. Let's see how the religious folks do with 107.3.

I have to wonder if these are the highest 6+ numbers ever for 92.5 and 92.9? WBOS May go up even more now with the demise of AAF.

I know these numbers mean nothing, but it is interesting to see.

Unlikely we'll ever know. EMF rarely subscribes its stations to Nielsen. Their success is measured in listener donations.

I've seen NPR stations that still play music (classical and/or jazz) suffer noticeable rating slumps during any month that contains an on-air pledge drive. But the stations still consider those months a success no matter how many listeners temporarily tune out because the ones who put up with the every-quarter-hour appeals are the ones supplying the credit card numbers to those eagerly waiting operators.

Hope all the best for them. I'll be donating my money to more worthy causes than a station that plays pop music that replaces the word "baby" with "Jesus". To me it's no different than donating money to televangelicals

its only a matter of time before WODS gets a format change. Look what entercom did with the AMP radio station in detriot and that station had higher ratings than WODS

If that was the case, WODS would have been flipped while this was going on. I'm not saying WAAF to 103.3, but they would have made a move to bring the demo over with this change. I think Amp is here to stay for the foreseeable future, and our friends at Entercom drank the CBS Radio East Coast koolaid of thinking that men only want to hear Sports Talk. My opinion is the WAAF was sacrificed to bring listeners to WEEI. Or, they would have brought on a morning show when they moved Hill. Just what they did to Hsu and LB alone was telling enough. They put them in the afternoon and placed an emphasis on more music than an actual show. No wonder LB left. Former athlete was left out of the move to the Sports station, then relegated to highly music formatted afternoon show.

They seem to subscribe in some big markets like NYC, LA, Chicago, Philly, etc. I suspect they will here as well

They changed Amp in NYC to Alt 92.3 and they own a lot of Alternative stations. Perhaps they didn't want to hurt WAAF's ratings and heritage with creating an alt station on 103.3 initially. Now that WAAF is gone, 103.3 can be changed to Alternative.

If Entercom was to flip WODS to alternative if they had a playlist like KDKB in Phoenix I think that would do well here IMO.

It will not really matter, EMF is about listener support and not the books ratings at all.

Well, maybe to you, Least, however comparing the 2 is really like apples and oranges. If you are looking for a target, then why not scrutinize the for profit Salem Broadcasting? Or are you just crying over stilled milk because your losing a commercial rock station for light, generally happy, and Generic K-Love instead?

Now that seems quite plausible, considering that the station had been touting a relaunch in early March.

Looking at these numbers, a few things stick out:

WBOS sees a nice gain in the ratings (up .6) And WXRV hits that magical 3.0 number also.

Any rhyme or reason as to why WMJX lost over a 2.0 share at all? I would blame WROR, but there numbers are steady though.

What is WODS ratings with their target audience? Females that are teenagers or young adults. If they are doing okay with that group, then I think WODS will stay their format for now even though their closest competitors (Kiss 108, Hot 96.9, JAMN 94.5) have higher overall ratings.

Teens are not anyone's target. There is just no money against teens today.

Based on the average of the last 3 month-named books of last year, they are 17th in 25-54 and 11th in 18-34 and 9th in 18-34 women.

The only way they will get on ratings-based buys is in a combo with the sister stations.
