They preempted that for this?

WNYW showed the usual infomercials on Saturday until 2:30, followed by two movies: "March of the Penguins" from 2:30-4:00, then "Changing Lanes" from 4:00-6:00. Sunday was infomercials and SBXXXI.
Both very good movies. It has been years since I saw "Changing Lanes" but I had never seen "March of the Penguins".

Back to our friends north of the border (NTV CJON St John's Newfoundland)

This week they cut back the COVID-19 updates to a half hour but still air at 2pm...right in the middle of Days of our Lives. They started this last week
https://www.radiodiscussions.com/sh...orts-reasons&p=6315449&viewfull=1#post6315449

Anywho so Days is at 1:30-2 then 2:30-3. They moved the 2nd running of Judge Judy to 3:30 (normally the new episode runs at 3:30pm then the 2nd episode is at 5am) and the new epsisode at 3. Rachael still at 4

So its
12:30 Y&R
1:30 Days (1st half)
2:00 news update
2:30 Days (2nd half)
3:00 Judy new
3:30 Judy 2nd show
4:00 Rachael

The 5am slot they just filled with an extra half hour of "Scenes of Newfoundland" which is dedicated to scenes of the province with traditional music from local artists playing in the background.
here is a example

Most likely. But GSN does not air Wheel of Fortune anymore. And when they do, they're episodes from several years prior.

Is there a certain time period they have to wait to air new episodes as reruns because I know this is the case with movies, and also some tv shows such as nat geo airing episodes from lockup that were originally aired in 2017.

Isn't WNYW a Fox O&O station? I'm surprised they didn't show Fox's sports programming instead. But even with that showing movies is better than infomercials.

no different than FOX O&O KMSP in Minneapolis not showing the FOX stuff (sans the SB rerun on Sunday) but instead shows old movies. They showed those movies a couple weeks ago

Tonight, all Nexstar-owned stations based in New York State (serving every DMA except NYC) aired a Congressional Town Hall meeting from 7-8 PM. The following stations pre-empted the following programming:

Albany:
WTEN ABC 10: Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!
WXXA FOX 23: Local News, Judge Judy

Binghamton:
WBGH NBC 20: Modern Family x 2
WIVT ABC 34: Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!
(Note: WIVT announced that WOF/J!'s Tuesday episodes would be delayed to Wednesday at 5:00 PM, replacing The Dr. Oz Show, which also airs on WBGH at 4:00 PM)

Buffalo:
WIVB CBS 4: Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!
WNLO CW 23: Inside Edition, TMZ (both shows repeat in reverse order from 12-1 AM)
(Note: WOF/J! always move to WNLO when pre-empted on WIVB, so this is likely a rare instance of neither show airing at all in Buffalo, unless they go the one-day-delay route)

Elmira:
WETM NBC 18: Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune
(Note: WOF/J! almost always move to indie 18.2 when pre-empted, replacing a repeat of WETM's 6:00 news and Modern Family, but it is unknown if they did so this time since listings did not account for the Town Hall)

Plattsburgh/Burlington, VT:
WVNY ABC 22: Local News, Inside Edition (does not repeat)
WFFF FOX 44: The Big Bang Theory x 2

Rochester:
WROC CBS 8: Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy! (as always when pre-empted, bumped to 1:37 and 2:37 AM with an 11:00 news repeat in between)

Syracuse:
WSYR ABC 9: Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition (ET is bumped to 2:07 AM, IE also airs at 4:30 PM)

Utica:
WPNY My 11: Dateline
WUTR ABC 20: Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition (ET repeats the next day at 12:00 PM on WFXV)
WFXV FOX 33: The Big Bang Theory x 2

Watertown:
WWTI ABC 50: The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family (MF is bumped to 2:37 AM)

Most of these stations did not have the town hall listed. Buffalo had it listed only on WIVB with Wheel and Jeopardy! on WNLO. WTEN's website only had it listed on WXXA, but it aired on both.

All Big Four stations in the Mid-Michigan/Bay City/Flint market aired a town hall special with the Governor from 7-8 PM Eastern. The following programs were pre-empted:

WNEM CBS 5: Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune (normally, they move to 5.2 MyTV when pre-empted, replacing local news and Access Hollywood, but since this was last-minute, it's unknown if they did this time)

WJRT ABC 12: Judge Judy "A" and "B" runs ("C" and "D" air from 3-4 PM; all four runs are reruns right now)

WEYI NBC 25: Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition (neither show re-airs in this market)

WSMH FOX 66: The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men

The special was only listed on WEYI. None of the syndies are known to be getting makegoods tonight.

I don't know what is normally on WBTV Charlotte but last night at 7:30 there was an anniversary special for the UNC-Charlotte shooting that killed 2, one of which likely saved many by stopping the shooter.

This weekends FOX "optional " sports programming

Saturday NASCAR is 1994 Brickyard 400 at 11 CDT
MLB is 2014 NLCS game 5 (St Louis & San Fran) at 2

Sunday is Dover eNASCAR at noon
NFL is NFC Championship from 1996 (Packers/Cowboys) at 2

Also Saturday prime time they are showing a abbreviated SB LIV (2 hrs in length)

Local program titled "On Your Side Tonight with Jamie Boll".

Interestingly, it appears that WBTV does not carry any syndicated programming at all during the day or evening; all the non-network slots are local programs or news. Unless you count the Gray program "Full Court Press Now", the only air weekday syndies once per week: Four episodes of Comics Unleashed, Designing Spaces, and Ron Hazelton's HouseCalls air from 2:07-5:00 AM on Friday nights/Saturday mornings, and four episodes of Funny You Should Ask are delayed to Saturday and Sunday afternoons (unless they have four runs for the weekend? I thought they only had two)

Varsity Blues at 10am then Must Love Dogs at noon
Paid program from 2-3 then the usual Saturday of Access Hollywood and 2 episodes of JJ before news at 5

Sunday they have PP between 11 and 2

No optional sports on WNYW this weekend. All infomercials Saturday until Whacked Out Sports at 3:00, then Oceans Twelve from 3:30-6:00. Sunday is infomercials until 3:00, then Million Dollar Baby.

WHBQ in Memphis showed infomercials, an episode of The Masked Singer that was probably pre-empted from earlier (Because of a Coronavirus Press conference?), and Family Feud, even though the schedule on Spectrum's guide showed that they were supposed to be showing the sports from Fox. Titan TV got the schedule partially right showing paid programming.

WJKT in Jackson, TN had usually been showing Fox's sports programming despite Spectrum's guide usually saying paid programming or TBA. But today for some stupid reason they went the opposite direction and showed infomercials from 9 AM until 7 PM. (TEN HOURS!!!) To make things worse every time I checked what was on they kept showing the same two infomercials with James Robison and Cindy Crawford at least since Noon and probably since 9 AM. This has to be the stupidest stunt I've ever seen with infomercials on any station. Are things that bad where they can't at least get some different infomercials??? I just hope this doesn't get to be a regular thing for them.

For tomorrow Spectrum's guide shows WHBQ showing Fox's sports schedule and WJKT as being paid programming or TBA again. Titan Tv shows WHBQ showing infomercials until the NFC playoff game repeat and WJKT showing the full sports schedule. I'm working again tomorrow afternoon so I don't know if I'll get to see what happens, but I won't put it past either station to fill the entire schedule with infomercials again.

Money talks, again. The time is for sale and the money offered is more than the station could possibly make by selling advertising on Fox Sports' filler programming. Once the time is sold, the station says "Thank you very much" and doesn't care whether a single soul watches it for those 10 hours, or whether every infomercial shown in that block is different. Not sure why you are always so full of rage about this. People, even in Jackson, Tennessee, have hundreds of entertainment options available to them -- on TV, online, in their own video libraries. Few of them will miss watching an old World Series game or Nascar drivers trying to avoid dropping the N-word again while playing a video game.

WJKT pre-empted Fox's sports lineup again today, and ran Judge Judy, ET and TMZ for part of the time. BUt then during the rest of the time it was the same two infomercials again!

WHBQ was showing infomercials, although they were supplsed to show the NFC playoff game today. But my recording failed and I don't know what they actually did.
