Bill O'Reilly on WABC

But at 10 pm nightly? Preceded by Rudy Giuliani at 9 pm? Aren't these hours the very opposite of prime time? I would imagine O'Reilly's show will be syndicated. Or is it just a repeat of his TV show on The First streaming that airs live at 8 pm?

These two hour-long programs are pre-empting John Batchelor's first two hours on WABC. Batchelor's been in that slot for 15 years (with a gap of a few years) since 2001. And Batchelor even gave the hard-to-listen-to WABC station owner John Catsimatidis his own weekly segment. Guess that wasn't enough. Or perhaps this is a temporary situation until WABC's commitment to run Shapiro is finally done.

I think that's part of it. They're carrying a lot of syndication and I think they want to do their own programing. But I don't hear O'Reilly as an afternoon drive guy. Especially as a 1-hour show. He doesn't the energy for that time of day.

So whos show got kicked off the station due to the addition of mr oreilys show?

So what's the general view on this new show? From what I see, he's basically saying the same thing the other talkers are saying.

His "talking points" are the same as the other talking points. "Trump is good, liberals are really leftist radicals."

Yes he does.
I heard him for 10 years on WOR in the 90’s and 2000s. Excellent.

When I watch Tucker Carlson's TV show I often think how grateful I am that O'Reilly "retired" from that slot. Carlson's is the best talk show on televsion, IMO. He does his homework and presents different topics and different guests from the shows preceding and following him.

I hear O'Reilly being interviewed by Mark Simone and I think it's his presentation more than his energy that's "old." Simone's show has greatly improved since he stopped doing interviews with aging comics and TV personalities like Dick Cavett, but O'Reilly fits into that category. WABC should be looking for new and different voices, IMO.

Please keep TV commentary to the television board. This is not a radio subject.
