They preempted that for this?

I'm hearing that Steelers-Titans is being rescheduled to either Monday or Tuesday Night. Maybe that means no local news on CBS?

They haven't scheduled an airtime yet, but I'm sure that's a major consideration. It can't be played at the same time as Monday Night Football. It has to start no later than 4PM to conclude by kick-off. So yes it would pre-empt local news. It's possible the NFL will require the game to be played at the same time it was originally scheduled, which is 1PM ET. In that case it wouldn't pre-empt local news.

I don't think the NFL will allow CBS to air that game on Tuesday night, even though there is no conflict with another NFL game. That would give them a night game that's not covered in the contract.

I seem to recall a similar ordinary Sunday 1 p.m. game that had to be postponed due to some sort of natural disaster and was sent only to the stations in the markets of the teams involved, and I believe it was on a Monday night, although I suppose it could have been afternoon or even Tuesday. Maybe someone else has a clearer memory of this.

in cases like that the only markets that show the game are the primary markets of the team (so in this case Nashville and Pittsburgh) and the secondary markets of the road team (Pittsburgh...which their secondary markets are Johnstown/Altoona, Wheeling/Steubenville, and Clarksburg/Weston). Secondary markets must show road games. The secondary markets of the home team (in this case Jackson, Chattanooga and Bowling Green) may also get to show it

The game would be available to NFL Sunday Ticket viewers

Jogging my memory back when the Metrodome roof collapsed and the Vikings/Giants game was moved to Detroit Monday night the markets who showed the game were NYC, Albany and the Minnesota DMA's (Minneapolis, Duluth, Mankato, Rochester/Austin/Albert Lea)

This Saturday the North Dakota State Bison are playing a fall football game (most FCS teams are playing in the spring) and for the last 10 years or so games have been televised state wide on NBC North Dakota.

This Saturdays game will be pre-empting the soccer game, the Indy car race and the Preakness

They are showing paid programming from 11:30-12:30 then game time with Boomer Esiason at 12:30
The pregame starts at 1 and runs til 2:30
Game starts at 2:30

NBC stations affected are KVLY Fargo/Grand Forks, KFYR Bismarck, KMOT Minot, KQCD Dickinson and KUMV Williston

game postponed til later in the season

https://www.nfl.com/news/steelers-t...r-additional-titans-player-personnel-test-pos

The NFL announced it is rescheduling this week's Steelers-Titans game to later in the season after an additional Titans player and one personnel tested positive for COVID-19. It will not be played Week 4.

An announcement of the new game date will be made soon.

Unless both teams have the same bye week, how can this work without giving one or both teams a very short week or causing knock-on effects to other teams' schedules? How many further outbreaks can the NFL stand before it will have to cancel rather than postpone games and give back millions of dollars?

It would have been a CBS national telecast had it been able to been played Monday or Tuesday.

But a scenario that has been proposed is moving the Steelers/Ravens game to Week 8 when both of those teams have a bye and playing it Week 7.

Day 3 of the MLB wild card playoffs and ABC is still in the rotation, carrying the Miami-Chicago Cubs game at 2 p.m. Eastern. The four other games (three NL Game 2s and the only AL Game 3, White Sox-A's) are on ESPN. Goodbye to TBS and ESPN2.

On ABC, yesterday's MLB game overran to about 5:33 PM Eastern.

NBA Finals Game 1 overran to about 11:44 PM. On the East Coast, this resulted in Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night (which I believe is an encore of the 8:00 PM Eastern airing), late night news, and the main Kimmel and everything afterwards airing delayed.

On the West Coast, the pre-game Kimmel was not required to air. KOTA in Rapid City aired Wheel of Fortune at 6:00 Mountain before the NBA Countdown pregame. They also had Jeopardy! listed after the game at 9:30 and no Kimmel Game Night at all, unless that was a mistake. At one point earlier this week, Kimmel Game Night was listed at both 6:00 and 9:30 with no Wheel or J!, but it changed (neither game show aired Tuesday night either, due to ABC's 20/20 debate special airing at 6:00 MT. In Pacific Time, stations could air Kimmel Game Night on their own time; some aired it right after the game while others showed local news first.

KOMO in Seattle began Wheel from the beginning around 9:15 after Kimmel Game Night, followed by full Jeopardy! and I assume they shortened the scheduled 10:00-12:05 newscast as a result. Alaska's ABC also ran J! and Wheel in full delayed after Kimmel.

KATU in Portland ran Kimmel Game Night, then a full hour of news from 9:15-10:15. As a result, and as per their "policy", Jeopardy! ran in full from 10:15-10:45 and Wheel was JIP'd halfway through.

KGO San Francisco had local postgame all the way until 10:30, with local news airing for an hour before the main Kimmel. The postgame actually ran until 10, followed by Kimmel Game Night. They were the only West Coast ABC that carries the Jeopardy!/Wheel duo that did not air them in primetime after the game. They're not listed at all on Zap2It or Titan, but they actually aired at 3:00 and 3:30 AM in place of the Tamron Hall encore.

Marlins-Cubs postponed today by rain, rescheduled for tomorrow, also on ABC, according to the crawl on Reds-Braves. Time will be 2 p.m. or 7 p.m., depending on which other series are still alive. Yes, prime time on ABC.

The latter would conflict with the NBA Finals, though. So would the two be split between ESPN and ABC?

I noticed WSOC aired Dr. Phil in place of the Kelly and Ryan repeat last night. Apparently, I have just discovered, WAXN does not air the previous day’s episode at 10am. A Monday episode on WSOC at 4 won’t air until Wednesday on WAXN, strange.

And now the ESPN crawl has been updated yet again: Marlins-Cubs at 2 on ABC or 7 on ESPN, no conflict with the NBA Finals.

They went on-air on ABC to announce the same thing after GMA3 ended. Though the announcement was abruptly cut off by the intro to Rachael Ray on at least WPVI.

WABC still aired Rachael on the subchannel at nearly the same time as the main station.
