The Sun-Times reports play-by-play announcer Len Kasper is leaving the Cubs television booth at Marquee Sports Network for the White Sox radio booth on WMVP (1000) to work with analyst Darrin Jackson. Kasper replaces Andy Masur, who held the post one year after the death of Ed Farmer.
Kasper, in the Cubs booth 16 years, is to be replaced by Chris Myers of Fox Sports. Myers' baseball play-by-play resume consists of a few regional games on Fox in 2012 and 2013. Jim Deshaies remains as the Cubs TV analyst.
There was talk Masur would be replaced as the Six left WGN (720), but Kasper's name didn't come up. It's not quite on a scale of Harry Carey moving from the Sox to the Cubs in 1982, but it's still a surprise.
