Scripps soon moving Katz TV subchannels to ION stations

If part of this will involve taking the Katz networks down from other channels this could bring about changes at other stations. In Memphis Bounce and Grit are on WMC NBC 5, Court TV Mystery is on WHBQ Fox 13, and Laff is on WATN ABC 24.

What about markets that don't have a Scripps-owned station, or where ION is broadcast on a subchannel of a non-Scripps station?

In Springfield-Decatur-Champaign (IL), ION airs on Block Communications' WAND-17.3 subchannel (WAND's main affiliation is NBC). While the Nexstar stations in the market divide up the Katz networks: Court TV Mystery and Laff on WCIX My 49, and Bounce and Grit on WCIA CBS 3.

In Peoria-Bloomington, all Katz subchannels except Grit air as subchannels to WMBD-31 (CBS), also owned by Nexstar. ION in the market airs as channel 25.4 to WEEK-25 (NBC), owned by Quincy Media.

I would suspect that with ION stations getting Katz owned subchannels, this would result in the expansion of subchannels like Decades, Movies, and Retro to go into markets that they were not available previously or were available previously but are not currently available.

What will the ION stations that are being sold to INYO Broadcast Holdings, including KPXE-TV, carry, besides ION on the .1 channel? Will they just pick up other diginets, or drop the subchannels completely?

The Katz Networks
Inyo got the stations that Scripps already had a station in the market. They (Scripps) are still going to put the Katz Networks on those Inyo owned stations.

They will replace QVC,HSN,Jewelry TV to on KPXE and already have with Laff replacing QVC and cable providers should change feed to Iontv feed for Commercial. KSHB/KMCI maybe replace them with Newsy,News/Weather,Charge but could replace Court TV 4.3 and so on. Heroes and Icons but other Hearst stations have it. Also other then Google Fiber no other Privider in KC area has KPXE Sub Channels yet.

The E.W. Scripps Co. today appointed television sales veteran Michael Teicher as chief revenue officer for its national television networks business, effective Jan. 19.

In this new role, Teicher will be responsible for developing the company’s ad sales strategy for all the Scripps networks across all platforms, including general market, direct response, programmatic/digital, long-form and sponsorship advertising. He will report to Jonathan Katz, chief operating officer and head of entertainment for Scripps networks.

A New leader is joining Scripps in the post Ion/Scripps deal phase.
