They preempted that for this?

Most ET/CT NBC affiliates are airing the White House press briefing from 7-8 PM ET instead of normal programming. ABC, CBS, and FOX all have normal programming for now.
Not sure exactly when, but NBC signed off by 7:37. I saw that KSDK 5 in St Louis was airing the briefing in place of the 6:00 news, but Wheel of Fortune was on during the break between Rounds 1 and 2.

No. At NATPE, they're marketed as one entity, despite some Central markets having the shows on competing stations. There is even a compact "Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!" logo that affiliates can use.

Also, if anything, Wheel would be the "parent" of the two, because J! was only revived for syndication because Wheel was such a success right from its first season, so Merv Griffin saw this as an opportunity to revive J! and make it a companion program. Remember that the very first incarnation of J! was cancelled by NBC in 1975 and Merv created Wheel to replace it. Jeopardy! would not be around today if it weren't for Wheel of Fortune.
Time to move beyond 1984. What the long departed Merv did nearly four decades ago is irrelevant. All things considered here in the 21st century, Jeopardy is the marquee program.

Yep, saw that when I breezed by it shortly after 7:00. Other NBC's that opted to show the game show duo in their entirety included WXIA Atlanta, WTLV Jacksonville, and WCBD Charleston. WILX Lansing bumped both to 3:00 and 3:30 AM as they did on Monday, even though Jeopardy! did air the majority shortly after 7:30.

WCAU in Philly still showed its local 7:00 newscast and Access Hollywood uninterrupted. WNBC aired the national coverage.

Another installment of Nexstar's Buffalo Kickoff Live aired last night, lasting an hour. On WIVB CBS 4 Buffalo, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! were moved to WNLO CW 23. On WROC CBS 8, the same shows were bumped to 1:37 and 2:37 AM ET. WETM NBC 18 only aired the second half because they do not have the rights to show the NFL footage replayed during the show's first half, so Jeopardy! got to air as normal while Wheel of Fortune was moved to 18.2 Antenna TV.

WSYR ABC 9 Syracuse also only aired the second half since the first half conflicts with weekly Thursday program "Orange Nation B'Ball" at 7:00. Apparently, the first half will air tonight at 7:00, right before another local Bills show, The Sean McDermott show. The prime access airings of Entertainment Tonight and Inside Edition were pre-empted two days in a row, but they both air twice. ET repeats the following weekday at 3:30 PM ET, while Inside Edition first airs at 4:30 PM with its 7:30 airing being an encore.

Another installment will apparently air Friday 2/5, and possibly one next week if the Bills win Sunday's game.

It's actually yet another episode of Buffalo Kickoff Live, only half an hour for all markets this time. So once again, WIVB moves Wheel of Fortune to WNLO, and WROC moves it to 1:37 AM.

WETM? 7:00? Oh, no! They can't pre-empt Jeopardy!! So BKL moves to 18.2 so that Jeopardy! can still air at its normal time, even though it airs on the regular station and bumps Wheel to 18.2 if they air it at 7:30. Yet another double standard between the two game shows. Say what you want, but this is obviously favoritism to Jeopardy! if they think it's more important than Bills stuff but Wheel of Fortune isn't. Maybe if we were still finishing up Alex's final episodes, sure, but even afterwards, Jeopardy! is still being treated like a sacred relic compared to Wheel and other syndies.

Not a preemption per see, but could a network challenge the federal laws that prohibit airing NFL games on Saturdays, to protect college football? Like of CFB had to shut down everywhere because of COVID?

It looks like NBC News's coverage of the Impeachment Trial is still going. I believe WLWT aired it but when there Newscast started they moved it to the MeTV subchannel.

WBBJ in Jackson, TN has been pre-empting the impeachment coverage from 11:00 to Noon to carry Jeopardy and local news on ABC 7.1 and local news on CBS 7.3 from Noon to 12:30, similar to what they did last year with the first impeachment.

My attitude toward it is the same as it had been with last year. I don't care about seeing the impeachment coverage but it's still an improvement over most of the regular garbage on daytime TV.

The impeachment coverage has pre-empted local news at noon on Knoxville, Tennessee stations WATE and WVLT for the past several days. WBIR pre-empts it for their local news at noon, moving the impeachment coverage to their 10News2 cable channel. Evidently, WBIR considers local news more important than the impeachment coverage.

Tonight, WATE pre-empts Judge Judy at 7 PM for a Knoxville Wholesale Furniture infomercial.

This isn't the first time that that midweek Knoxville Wholesale Furniture infomercial has aired in place of Judge Judy (why?). I have a friend who complains about not getting his Judge Judy fix when that happens.

Not TV, but "Wait! Wait!" did not air this morning due to impeachment coverage. My NPR station repeats the show on Sunday, so I'm hoping they do that tomorrow. Surely they will take Sunday off.
