While Easy's signal does not allow full coverage of the Boston Metro, this station is an underrated gem. First, the music variety is the best I have ever heard on a commercial station. The playlist is as broad as I have ever seen, as most Top 40 songs dating back to 1970 (and earlier during the 6 PM hour) can be heard at any given time. It's rare to hear the same song twice in a week, never mind a given day. This station plays a better variety than Jack/Variety Hits stations. Secondly, despite the lack of a morning show and the fact that the station is jockless at night, there is more of a live and local focus than other Boston stations. There is a focus on caller interaction, something I have not heard in years. It is clear that most of afternoon driver Kevin Cronin's shift, for example, is not voice-tracked/is live. Thirdly, the speciality shows are very good. The night-time decades theme, from the "60s at 6" to the "90s at 9," are very well-produced. Fourth, the jocks are seasoned professionals. Tony Bristol works Sunday afternoons, for example. Fifth, the station has dropped its Boston-centric focus and is concentrating on its home base - Plymouth and the surrounding area. One voiceover promotes the station's reach - from Boston to Providence to Cape Cod - but I hardly hear any references to Boston on the station anymore.
