Energy 106.9 Blows up

The wheel of formats is spinning again on 106.9 in Milwaukee. They have ditched the CHR format (which lasted longer than I thought it would) and is stunting until 4/1. I'm not sure which viable format niche that could be filled. Soft AC perhaps? Otherwise I dunno

Surprised they don’t launch another Sports station as it seems Milwaukee can never have enough of those.

In all seriousness though, this is a win for WXSS. Not much for the listeners of the format (as they no longer have a choice) but it’s a win for WXSS.

If they do something like Oldies or Soft AC, I wouldn’t want to be WRIT. Given WRIT and WKLH are neck in neck in the ratings, I wouldn’t be surprised if they used it to prop up WKLH

It sounds like they cleaned out the storeroom at 5407 McKinley Ave., playing plenty of 50's & 60's. Maybe they can locate some old tapes of King Zbornik, Bob Branson, and Eddie Doucettte!

I believe all of the PO stations are locally programmed. Comparing Milwaukee to Des Moines, I don’t see songs in the same order between both stations.
Funny...I was listening to the Pure Oldies 106.9 after the flip. I needed to brushdown my music history. What they need to do is...Put a little Nostalgia music in there....The Oldies format has been popping up all over the nation and regardless of age demo...The Oldies format is a good seller.
