The KZQZ 1430 frequency is one of the AM allotments going to auction soon along with the vacant FM allotments. Don't know if they took down the towers.Sorry I missed this one. WION has been a semi-regular sunrise catch at my location in the northwest suburbs ever since KZQZ (St. Louis) went dark.
I hunted around some more and found a webpage and livestreams, so it would appear that what I heard was very likely CFNV.Radio Locator still lists CFNV as being on the air, but I don't know how valid that is.
I wandered around the Chicago lakeshore and picked up a couple of intriguing ones:
On 1220, I heard CFAJ in St. Catherines, ON (near Niagara Falls). It appears to be a relatively new station.
Then on 940 I distinctly heard a French-language discussion before fading out. A natural guess would be CFNV in Montreal (50 KW), except I can't even find any evidence they are still broadcasting. Maybe this is some evidence? Or it could have been something else, I suppose.
Good catch!I heard CFAJ once here in Alaska a few months ago.. listen to this clip.. that Barbara Streisand tune thats pretty strong and in the clear is CFAJ. How do I know? Listen to the very end as the signal gets weaker.. "Another hour of great music on 1220 CFAJ St Catharines, Niagra"
That's a good catch, and may be possible for me over in Houston. I should be able to null local KBRZ and log KHOJ before KBRZ goes to day power and after KHOJ does.On Thursday morning around sunrise I logged a new station on 1460 - KHOJ in St. Charles, MO, at 790 miles. I heard the Sonrise Morning Show and a promo for Visiting Angels, which matched the station’s webstream.

Very good. From south Overland Park, Kansas:
I finally logged XEX on 730 kHz in Mexico City for the first time this morning at 5:45am CDT. I have noticed in the past that in my area, I often receive the strongest signals from Mexico in the hour before local sunrise. Sure enough, after logging XEX, I also logged XEG, XEROK, XEWA and XERF [all previously logged]. XEG is often strongest signal I receive from Mexico.
