Two DX sites note 1430 WION Ionia, Mich., will be testing beginning 11 p.m. ET (now) and go to day power of 4.7 kW after midnight (ET). Night power is 330 watts. WION is a C-QUAM stereo station. Might be worth a listen.

WION, a previous catch, is coming in here in the southwest suburbs of Chicago even with and over WEEF. Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly" there right now following an ID. And in stereo on the Sony SRF-A100 I picked up a few weeks ago!

Sorry I missed this one. WION has been a semi-regular sunrise catch at my location in the northwest suburbs ever since KZQZ (St. Louis) went dark.

I wandered around the Chicago lakeshore and picked up a couple of intriguing ones:

On 1220, I heard CFAJ in St. Catherines, ON (near Niagara Falls). It appears to be a relatively new station.

Then on 940 I distinctly heard a French-language discussion before fading out. A natural guess would be CFNV in Montreal (50 KW), except I can't even find any evidence they are still broadcasting. Maybe this is some evidence? Or it could have been something else, I suppose.

You heard CFNV. Have noted them few times in recent months, but not as common as CBM and CINW used to be. As it is the most common station heard at my location these days is WFAW Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin with their oldies format.

From south Overland Park, Kansas:

This morning between 7:30-7:45am CDT in my car on the way to a client meeting, I logged KHMO in Hannibal, Missouri on 1070 kHz as they were on their 5 kW, 3-tower directional array, a first time catch during the later stages of critical hours. Normally, I am in the fringe daytime coverage area of 10 kw, KFTI in Wichita, Kansas.

I heard CFAJ once here in Alaska a few months ago.. listen to this clip.. that Barbara Streisand tune thats pretty strong and in the clear is CFAJ. How do I know? Listen to the very end as the signal gets weaker.. "Another hour of great music on 1220 CFAJ St Catharines, Niagra"

On Thursday morning around sunrise I logged a new station on 1460 - KHOJ in St. Charles, MO, at 790 miles. I heard the Sonrise Morning Show and a promo for Visiting Angels, which matched the station’s webstream.

Semi-local KCWM is off the air due to storms and possible tornado damage this past week.

That's a good catch, and may be possible for me over in Houston. I should be able to null local KBRZ and log KHOJ before KBRZ goes to day power and after KHOJ does.

I heard KHOJ and KBRZ each once in WY. I tried for KBRZ multiple times since it had a stand out of the muck music format at the time, i think.. but never again did i hear it

From south Overland Park, Kansas:

I finally logged XEX on 730 kHz in Mexico City for the first time this morning at 5:45am CDT. I have noticed in the past that in my area, I often receive the strongest signals from Mexico in the hour before local sunrise. Sure enough, after logging XEX, I also logged XEG, XEROK, XEWA and XERF [all previously logged]. XEG is often strongest signal I receive from Mexico.

Very good.

I was walking to Walmart on a Nice Warm Night with my New Panasonic R-P30 at 7pm

Was toying on 1600 before it goes to Night Pattern, Went to 1270 to hear KBZZ & KVMI going In & Out

I though at 1st I caught something new on 1270 like Rock Music, Found out KBZZ flips to Classic Rock on April 2nd (On my Birthday) as 92.5 the Hog

In my car radio at 7:00am CDT this morning on 930 kHz, KWOC in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on their 5 kW non-directional daytime pattern. Certainly not a great distance but a first time log during critical hours. Normally at this hour on this frequency, I receive either a weak WTAD or WKY before signals fade out.
