That would be a good thing. But, unlikely to happen with on most of the current shows on these type stations.Or people can and should condemn racism.
How politically correct with your social justice virtue signaling for you to say that.Or people can and should condemn racism.
KFI needs Tim Conway, Jr., more than Tim Conway, Jr., needs KFI. It's a great gig, for sure, but he has been a ratings powerhouse for them at night. If I were them I wouldn't push him too hard come contract negotiatin' time....Overreaction just like in 2012 with John and ken and when John referred to whitney houston when she died as a crack something.
Iheart you overreacted then and you overreacted now. Good for timmy he gets a week off to spend with his family.
On the other hand, people who are not racists don't need to be telling people about it. I frequently find people who say things like "I have lots of Hispanic (or Black or Asian) friends" actually don't and are covering up their prejudices by saying so.That would be a good thing. But, unlikely to happen with on most of the current shows on these type stations.
Or, you know — people just want to be nice to other people. How politically correct with your social justice virtue signaling for you to say that.
Do you feel better now?

About not resorting to racist stereotypes and mockery? Yeah, it feels fine to not be the kind of person who thinks that kind of reprehensible behavior is acceptable. How politically correct with your social justice virtue signaling for you to say that.

And you of course were able to conclude beyond a shadow of a doubt that they were prejudiced and were able to call them so without regard for any other less malevolent reasons for their words or actions that might contradict your conclusion, and thus don't mind accusing them (albeit without naming their names) in a public forum such as this.On the other hand, people who are not racists don't need to be telling people about it. Congratulations for joining hundreds of millions of Americans for taking such a bold stance against racism. I am very proud of you. Just not as quite as proud as you seem to be of yourself. There’s not an objective way to determine whether the vast majority of Americans are racist. We can however look at behaviors like using racial and ethnic stereotypes in so-called comedy. At the unconscionable attacks on various communities. At the influence and spread of hate speech and rhetoric online. (And on and on.)
Whether it represents a case majority is beside the point. It is indefensible and deserves to be roundly condemned as such.

Some Americans try not to be racist. Sometimes we accidentally are racist anyway. We just didn't know.
Yes, by engaging in further conversation. What I said became obvious through their deeper comments of "anyone different from them" which included color, race, ethnicity, educational level, income level, etc.And you of course were able to conclude beyond a shadow of a doubt that they were prejudiced and were able to call them so without regard for any other less malevolent reasons for their words or actions that might contradict your conclusion, and thus don't mind accusing them (albeit without naming their names) in a public forum such as this.
I don't frequently find racists. In fact, I seldom find racist people but my friends, family and closest associates all comment on being occasional victims of racism. If you frequently find that people are racists, you probably need to check your own assumptions. News flash: In 2021, the vast majority of Americans are not racists.
Ah yes, you mean where it was recently reported that Barack Obama called the Tea Party Patriots racists with an epithet that I will not repeat here, but you are free to check the link.I think that's right. The difference is we used to care about being polite. We might say something when no one was around, but when we're in public, we try to be polite. Not any more. Nobody has a filter any more. Just like the ex-president.

That can happen with people of the best intent. When living in Ecuador, I'd hear about or actually see a non Ecuadorian gesturing with a flat hand out to indicated the height of their children or a child they had seen on the street... a flat-handed measure, in that era, was used to indicate the height of a dog or animal. Some Americans try not to be racist. Oh, so your ok with private overt racist remarks, just not ones that are uttered on the largest radio station in town? Got it.The key word in the story is "reportedly." Did he say it on the most listened-to talk radio station in LA? No. Was he even president at the time? No. Does tape of it exist? Not that I'm aware of. Did Nixon and LBJ use crude language. Yes. But it was in private. Not on KFI.
There's a difference. As I said, we all may have told our cute Polish jokes in private, but not on the radio.
Me too. And I think that's the gist of this thread:I've listened to Tim for years and I do not believe he is a racist at all.
