Missing translators

The 92.3 is owned by the same guy who now owns the silent KHTW 1300 in Beaumont...

Have noticed that K222CX 92.3 (KYOK) and K241CO 96.1 (KSHJ) have been off the air for at least a couple of weeks. No silent STA's have been filed, AFAIK.
I checked 92.3 a couple of weekends ago and it was on the air, but with a dead carrier.

Ever since KROI "upgraded" (and I say this very lightly) and added IBOC splatter, K222CX's coverage has been neutered.

92.3 is still on the air but dead air with that high pitched noise that’s always on there. The signal has always been weaker than any of the coverage maps.

High pitched noise? Odd.

As for KSHJ's translator they are aware of the problem and their engineer will be down from Dallas to fix it as soon as he can, according to their email. I guess engineers are hard to come by if they have to use one from Dallas.

Check out 92.3 next time you’re in spring. I don’t know how to explain the sound. Kind of sounds like listening to SSB with a high pitched hum in the background of gospel music. I’d much rather listen to them on 1140 AM

I'm in Spring near 2920 and I-45. KYOK-FM continues to waste electricity and listener's contribution dollars by broadcasting a carrier with a faint high pitched hum and RDS about the "Legendary 92.3 FM"---but No Programming.
Meanwhile, AM 1140 is totally off the air at 7pm, when their August sign-off time is 8pm Daylight Time.
That's a "Legendary" problem.

I was able to get ahold of the Lopezs by Facebook messaging one of their other stations letting them know about 92.3, they thanked me but IDK when it will get fixed... So I told both the missing translators, 96.1 is waiting on an engineer but IDK about 92.3.

But then we'd not have dead spaces to use our little vehicle/home low power signals :p

People still use those FM Transmitters? I was surprised that we still sale those cassette players that come with an AUX cable. 😂
Yes, check out 87.7 and 87.9 in Houston traffic on 45. You’ll most likely hear something

I have one or two dead spaces in my area, and also have a lil transmitter plugged in upstairs occupying one of them.

My car radio doesn’t go below 87.9 FM, speaking of 87.7.. Is that station still on air over there in Beaumont?

And I have been hearing gospel and soul music on 95.3 FM lately. Very spotty I certain areas.
