And here's the backgrounder of KAFZ..
I did some research about Alex Media, the group behind KAFZ Ash Fork and several other stations. Alex Media is a small LLC with three investors. Alexander Berger (51% share) is the New York-based owner majority stockholder. The second share owner, Virginia-based Darryl Delawder (24.5%) has a proven track record in RF engineering – seen in many FCC filings as an RF specialist. The third shareholder, Evan Carb (24.5%) is a DC-based attorney.
As noted in the listing below, KAFZ was “won” in Auction 93 for $53K (on the 36th round).
Alex Media has seen a mixed bag of successes over the years with the FCC auction process. Here are their winning bids and what eventually happened to each license.

Probably Alex’s best success was with 103.3A WTCF in Wardensville, West Virginia. For just a $37K final bid, the property later sold to Timber Ridge Ministries in 2013 for $650K. EMF subsequently took ownership in 2014 for $425K. Not bad for a 350-watt station that reaches into the Winchester, Virginia market. (Station prices since have collapsed there with Metro Radio just buying two nearby Class A’s (WINC, WZFC) for $225K - I suspect WTCF today is probably worth no more $75K.)
If you want a good read, check out the associated partners’ KMMI Loleta, California history. The poor CP has been in a “tolling status” for quite some time driven by regional frequency plans. The CP is for sale at $300,000 per radiotvdeals.com. KMLS, a San Angelo rimshotter, also merits a look with a FCC-dismissed move out of the area.
