WCCR, AM1260 is “Cleveland Catholic Radio”. I notice that their top of the hour newscasts are announced as “Ave Maria Radio News”. The main programs seem to usually come from the EWTN radio network. I went to both websites and noticed that they both had some of the same programs listed, such as “Kresta In The Afternoon”, the talk show hosted by Al Kresta, Monday-Friday from 4pm- 6pm. Around the top of the hour, Al will mention what he’s going to talk about next, and then say, “but first here’s the news”.
Why isn’t it just EWTN radio news? I first thought that “Ave Maria” and “EWTN radio” networks might be independent with WCCR taking programming from each. However, the switch from one to the other is very smooth indicating a common source.
