Scott is absolutely correct. Thanks, Scott!I'm not a mod here (you couldn't pay me enough!), but I think David and Frank would agree with me on this: we're all allowed to reference other sites.
You can say "Allan Sniffen on nyrmb.com" (the source in this case) or "Lance at RadioInsight" or "Scott Fybush at NERW" or what have you. No need to dance around with "that other board." We're all adults here.
And if it's a rumor and not a fact? A question mark at the end of the subject line wouldn't be a bad idea either...
And country music fails again in Market No. 1. What possible format hole might Audacy think exists?Apparently more than a rumor - the jocks are saying their goodbyes and that it's the last day of the format.
Musically, there's not much that I could imagine. Some speculation: I could see potentially variety/adult hits (discussed in the Alt 92.3 thread) or (and this is what I'm currently leaning towards) a 1010 WINS simulcast. I could also see them trying to go with an Adult R&B format to target WBLS, but that seems unlikely. What possible format hole might Audacy think exists?
WINS getting an FM signal would probably send the WCBS domino tumbling in short order. The AM-ification of FM is on!Musically, there's not much that I could imagine. Admittedly that's what gives me doubt that we will be getting a WINS-FM; I doubt that Audacy would flip another one of their music FMs (92.3 really; 101.1 and 102.7 are definitely safe) to another FM all-news simulcast, unless Audacy goes for a translator for 880.WINS getting an FM signal would probably send the WCBS domino tumbling in short order. *badum tiss*I don't think WINS is going to FM, Audacy would be shooting themselves in the foot. Oh wait....
Well, I'm not expecting a "Revolution 93.5" format, but wouldn't surprise me of WINS makes the landing on 94.7And country music fails again in Market No. 1. What possible format hole might Audacy think exists?

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is the charity that WNSH has been supporting. A while ago, the DJs asked the listeners to make a donation to St. Jude.Very little music being played now, just interviews with various people who've worked at or listened to or -- right now -- been involved with charities 94.7 has supported over the years.
Also, what happens now to the remaining Nash Icon stations?
I was expecting this to be the last song, but nope.Around 10:00 am, WNSH played Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places."
I think my main guess is to have something compete against WAXQ at this point; something like what we discussed in the Alt 92.3 thread. I'm not expecting anything "Urban" because of cluster dynamics. There are plenty of musical format holes in New York. Granted, most every mainstream format has at least one station representing it on the dial, but, if you think that station, or its main competition, is lousy or otherwise needs a challenge, you have an opening.
If Audacy is going with a music format, the best way to think of openings is to look at its cluster and what it lacks.
