Local New Year's Eve coverage

NBC is doing something different this year with the NBC new years eve special airing at 10:30pm Eastern. Since it airs at 10:30pm eastern WHO tv 13 in Des Moines Iowa will air the NBC new years eve special at 10:30pm after the local news.

At 9pm WHO tv 13 will air a local special called Hello Iowa New Years Eve from 9pm to 10pm.

Well...Atlanta will have to stay home and welcome 2022 with Ryan Seacrest, Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, and Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson; the Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta, which was supposed to have returned after a three-year hiatus, has been canceled meaning for WSB, WXIA, and WGCL (Fox already killed off their New Year's bash, so no WAGA either), no split screen between that and Times Square: Atlanta New Years Eve Peach Drop cancelled due to COVID spike

Surprised Nextar (including WGN/Newsnation) doesn't carry Gatlinburg's New Year's Eve. There could be 150000 there, and since it's solid MAGA country, no restrictions, spread that COVID and take it home!

NYE will be spent watching something other than Times Square. I won't be watching another scaled-back celebration. I'll be back when there's 1,000,000 people again in the crowd. 2022-23?
My glowing potato in Boise is back (Mountain time, KTVB 7), and so is Dallas's Reunion Tower on Central time, syndicated to 20-30 stations. Bobby Bones is doing the Nashville show for CBS (their first time since the millennium), and Miley 'Wrecking Ball' Cyrus is down in Miami for NBC. A very interesting NYE where not everybody is broadcasting that ball in NYC.

Seattle's celebration has been quasi-canceled, they won't even let masked spectators in. I won't be watching. Las Vegas it is at 12Mid PT.

Plenty of other entertainment outside of that overrated ball.

EDIT - Confirmed Vegas is a go for NYE per newspaper report. KLAS airs it along with KTNV. Ch 3 has in the past, but I see Miami on the schedule instead.

Update Sacramento has now cancelled New Years Celebrations for same reasons as the rest of the USA.

Los Angeles has cancelled their New Years events.

Don’t forget WAGA, as the Peach Drop here in Atlanta returns after a three-year break.

By the way…it wasn’t until April when us regular folk would be eligible for vaccination.
Now KTVU and KTTV has to respond to their local New Years celebrations cancelled due to Omicron concerns.

No, KRON 4 has(had) the SF New Year's Live show. They also had KLAS syndicated coverage from Vegas on the TV guide. I assume they will take Vegas through to the end of the show.
KTLA has the Vegas show (simulcast with KRON).

And Las Vegas is not scaling back or canceling. It's full speed ahead!

Yes Las Vegas is going to have a New Years event on the strip.

isn't a lot of that pre taped weeks ago in LA?

According to this, he was scheduled to perform live from Times Square.

2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee LL Cool J was set to “Rock the Bells” in a Times Square pre-midnight medley of his greatest hits.

Perhaps they should see if Mariah Carey can fill in. The weather is expected to be warmer than the last time she appeared,

("Hot tea, hot tea.")

I'm not interested in other celebrations. They tried showing Charlotte's crown rising instead of the ball dropping on some stations at least once. Of course, I wasn't satisfied with seeing the crown arrive at the top rather than climb when I saw "highlights" later. Nevertheless, I don't care how few are in Times Square. I always welcome the New Year with the ball drop.

I've never watched "NCIS: Los Angeles" but that's the only place I would want to see LL Cool J. I wouldn't mind him hosting if that's all he did.

Not interested in seeing Mariah do anything.
