Easy 99.1 adds 60s at 6

I think WPLM is a fascinating story. They ID Plymouth/Boston/Providence/Cape Cod, but they appear to be smart enough to realize their bread is buttered in Plymouth & Bristol Counties. They sound well-sold and have more live jock hours than many stations. It's never a good idea for a suburban station to sell the numbers. Like or not, agency buyers (who look at numbers) are going to figure their Boston and maybe Providence buys will cover their clients. So you're left with retail sales. If you can stay close to your clients and listeners, you should be able to do well. Walk into a doctor's or law office and that's what you're likely to hear. Evenings are never big for audience, so playing that decade game makes sense. CKWW in Windsor/Detroit does the same thing.

And if they're playing Natasha Bedingfield's big hits ("Unwritten," "Pocketful of Sunshine"), they're playing songs that are around 15 years old. I'm not even hearing those on most Hot ACs now.
One of the things I love most about Easy is that nearly nothing is off limits in terms of their playlist.

@Radio 1992 50s would sound so out of place and dated on Easy

The format is defined, but the definition is opened up wider than any one else, but within the definition , if that makes any sense
Agreed. Seemingly every time I listen to Easy, I hear a song that I have not heard in decades. The programming is unbelievably good. Even with all those gems that no one else plays, Easy manages to play the songs that the more "corporate" stations constantly play. For example, everything on WROR's playlist can be heard on Easy. But Easy has thousands more songs in its playlist/library than WROR (the latter of which, because of its constant repetition and tight playlight, I find unlistenable).
