CALL CHANGES
1000 KOMO WA Seattle – Call change to KNWN will not happen (at least for now).
(NRC DX News January 25, 2022; published January 17)
I reported exclusively about the call letter change in a paywalled article on December 31 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/netgnomes/217651/domain-insight-12-31-komo-by-any-other-name/) that was then leaked here without attribution. At the time the FCC had inadvertently made the call change public. After the holiday, the application was moved back to pending status. As @fybush mentioned above, the FCC's databases are not properly updating and many call changes are requiring someone to call the representative at the call sign desk to get placed. The calls were moved back to pending status on January 3 where they remain.
The Hauser report is likely from seeing simply that the KNWN calls were active (albeit inadvertently) from December 30 until January 3 and then went back to KOMO. Nothing else.
