Was WWNN Pompano sold?

Heard rumor that WWNN Pompano was sold and the deal was closed. This AM was at one time WRBD sister station to WCKO K102 where I worked for years. Who out there knows more? Heard it was up for sale for 2 million. Asking in memory of my friend Joe Fisher who was the PD of WRBD for many years.
 
Was that just for the license? The property is full of cell/radio towers. I don't think the owner would sell the property.

Must be nice to have that kind of cash to throw around, then! I don't know what WWNN gets for an hour of air time but since it's all paid shows and probably has a skeleton staff it could end up being a money maker for him.

Yes. Remember, the price is an investment. If invested in munys, he could get about 3% tax free, about $60 thousand a year. If he makes more than that after expenses on the station by brokering time, he comes out ahead.

If they sell time to Kreyol language programs, they could make $10 thousand or more profit a month.
 
Many years ago, I was one of a half-dozen licensed guys driving around mostly Broward County doing an antenna proof of performance when they were preparing to add night service, They had been 5KW-D with three towers and were adding 2.5KW-N with six towers. I do not know how many stations their night pattern protected, but their engineer designed it in such a way that their pattern was pretty uniform from 1465 to 1475, so there was very little distortion in the nulls. It should still be that way unless significant changes had to be made when the cell site was added to the southwest stick. W245BC is on the big, center day tower and translates 1470 onto FM channel 245.
 
Deep null to the south to protect Cuban station. (Why do we still protect Cuban stations when they don't protect us?) Null to the west to protect two first adjacents (that are no longer there) in Naples / Ft Myers. One null to the northwest to protect Tampa. A null to the north to protect a station in Winston Salem NC.

I thought the null was to protect WKAT on 1450.

Per the latest lists from the Cuban government, as published in WRTH 2022, that station no longer exists there and the only Cuban on the frequency is just 1 kw and to the SSE of Broward.

CMDP is now on 1140.
 
I think that you guys might be talking about the day pattern.
I was talking about the night pattern.
Remember that back then, regional channel stations such as WRBD could only put out 5KW, today they are +10dB.
I would expect that some protection would be afforded to 1450 and maybe even to 1490 in MB.
Are graveyards protected to their kilowatt contours or still their quarter kilowatt contours?
