WDAS

It certainly helps, but isn't the only reason.

WDAS has always had a strong connection to the community it serves, and has a TON of heritage behind it. Like Action News, and (to a slightly lesser extent recently) B101, people have grown up with it, it's a comfortable familiar voice. 100.3 has made so many shifts and changes, people don't really know what to expect anymore. And the ratings clearly show it.

With notably few exceptions, Urban One's run here in Philly has been rocky to say the least. For many years, I have been expecting them to hang "For Sale" signs and get outta dodge.

Wish it would switch back to Philadelphia Radio Alternative Y100. I cried when the station went dead air almost 23 years ago. I got my first tattoo from Preston Marilyn & Steve show when it was at Y100

They shuffled off the 103.9 signal in a swap, but who knows what they're thinking. It looked like they might have a winner with Classix, but ratings have plateaued.

What they're doing with 100.3 right now is just confusing, and the ratings clearly show it.

It'll be 17 years this month since Y100 died. And (holy crap) 25 since WDRE was flipped.
