KKBQ HD-3

It is quite hilarious hearing K287BQ battle it out with KTWL from my house near Lake Conroe. Most of the time, it is K287BQ blasting through, complete with stereo pilot and RDS.

Are you by Montgomery? KTWL’s protected contour covers most of the lake. There’s interference with most of their south and east coverage. There’s even interference in old Magnolia.

A year ago, KTWL would have received a large payout for giving up their stake in the 105.3 frequency to the people who are now on pogo sticks happily hopping on KTWL's coverage...

Radio-locator is usually wrong with translator coverage
Then use https://home.recnet.com/ as everyone knowledgeable here has recommended.

The reason all maps don't match the signals is that Houston is notorious for having translators that do not conform with their license.

My screenshot was from fccdata.org
Good! Since you mentioned radio-locator, I was unsure. Again, if an operator disregards the licensed values, all coverage calculations are rendered invalid.

I meant to reply the the person above but that's absolutely the truth in Houston

You might report it to their email: [email protected] and tell them your ISP, browser name and version and even what anti-virus you are using.

I will do anything possible to avoid Google and MS browsers, and use Firefox and do not get that message.

This is happening because the website is misconfigured. Their certificate only has two DNS names defined, which are "recnet.com" and "www.recnet.com". It is therefore invalid for "home.recnet.com".

If you aren't seeing a warning for this, then something is very wrong and you should be very concerned because your browser is allowing you to connect to an HTTPS site with an invalid certificate. Firefox 96 does show a warning for it, as it should.

Michi has explained several times that home.recnet.com is an old URL no longer in use.

Her main front page for RECNet is just https://RECNet.com.

FCCData.org links from there and is the "station directory" site.

For those of us who put important links in a menu bar or drop-down hierarchy, it might be good were the all-encompassing site to have a text below the links explaining Michi's web "org chart". I discovered two of my old save links were either wrong or superseded by new URLs.

Google Chrome gives me a privacy error when trying to access home.recnet.com.

HA.. good luck accessing fccdata.org i cant without using a VPN and Michi refuses to admit theres an issue with her site...... ive since talked to a few other people using a different ISP who have had issues.. IE: the site is in accessible.
