Post your latest DX

I haven't DXed in weeks, but I will check 1120 tonight, that KCRN from CO should be easy if they are still blasting 50KW. And needed too!

Weird night for Dxing:
1090 was in English talking about Mark Reynolds, possibly KAAY.

1120 KCRN Limon is definitely on day power, as it's alone on the frequency and of local strength.

1060 playing Journey (Don't Stop Believing) but is fading in and out.
Mark Reynolds’s is a baseball player, used to play for the Rockies FWIW. One possibility, I’ve heard KVOP running sports late at night (it’s been a while).

It wasnt KAAY then.

IT was likely KVOP... less likely but possible, KFNQ

Nothing out of the ordinary last night, except for KBCV-1570 MO popping in and out at times with religious programming. Most frequencies were the same 3-4 that I hear nightly. KCRN must have signed off after Z posted that report, as even on the Methow Valley SDR, pointing east, it was just KANN and KPNW.
I haven't DXed in several weeks because there are many other priorities in my life...I haven't even finished last summer's E-skip tapes 🤨

@SomeRadioGuy and @crainbebo Here's some footage from the aftermath of the eleventh's opening.

First up, 1120 KCRN's legal ID. It almost looks like they signed off right after the ID.

Next, we have 1060 KNLV Ord, NE (near North Platte)

Finally, SRG, could you figure out what 1090 is saying here?

Thank you all for your help :)

Conditions auroral at times tonight. 1320 is KIFM Sacramento all alone. 660 KTNN AZ and maybe KGDP CA under. 1170 is KLOK San Jose (no KPUG), SS on 1470 mixed with KELA is probably XERCN Tijuana. Will keep updating if anything else pops up.
EDIT - 1520 KKZZ Port Hueneme CA with Spanish News/Talk mixed with KKXA. No Oregon. 1600 KUBA Yuba City w/ Billy Idol 'Mony Mony' // stream

On 850, I'm hearing WFTL West Palm Beach, FL with Lars Larson show matched to the stream. They run 24kw at night mostly east. Also 1170 WGMP Montgomery, AL is coming in clearly with "New Alternative 104.9 The Gump" ID, 850 w day, 7 w night.

A little auroral on the Edinburgh IN SDR. Only thing new IDed was Urban Gospel WMGY-800, Montgomery AL, under TWR. CKLW noticeably absent.
With predictions of a solar event this week, I was expecting auroral activity last night, but conditions to the north seemed pretty decent. CJOB, CBW, and CKRM all present, if not booming.. The oddity was that KMOX was weak...while KTRS was strong.

They tried to move WWVA 1170 to Stow, OH, but there was such a clamor of support for keeping it in Wheeling, WV that they had it dismissed.
I think that's the story iHeart (Clear Channel at the time) told publicly to try and save face. When Clear Channel purchased WWVA (along with a handful of other stations in the Wheeling, WV market), it was a legacy 50,000 watt station that had aired a country format for decades and was closely associated with Jamboree USA which, until it folded in the early 2000s, was the second longest live, regularly scheduled country music broadcast in the USA behind the Grand Ole Opry. In 1997, WWVA's format was switched from country to news/talk. In early 2004, Clear Channel filed the paperwork to try and move WWVA to Stow, Ohio, near Akron in an effort to make WWVA (possibly with a call letter change) a Cleveland, OH market station. They abandoned that idea and withdrew the application within about 6 months. Clear Channel publicly claimed it was because of local opposition in the town of Wheeling, WV. In reality, Wheeling had been experiencing steady population decline for decades, is located in the middle of the "rust belt" and many jobs, especially in the coal and steel industries which once employed a sizable portion of the population, were wiped out. That in mind, if Clear Channel (now iHeart) thought it was truly worth moving the station from the Wheeling, WV market to Stow/Cleveland, OH, they would have done so, and what little opposition they may have received from the town of Wheeling would not have stopped them.

It's much more likely that that, upon closer review and serious study, Clear Channel found it simply wasn't as financially attractive as originally thought, so they dropped the idea. As a feel good measure, they yelled "You win!" to the residents of the town of Wheeling.

Interesting AM DX yesterday morning (3/16) between approx. 4 and 5am CDT. Especially from Canada....
620: CKRM Trashing WTMJ.
690: CKGM I haven't heard the Montreal 690 for at least a couple of years. Probably on day pattern. No WQNO.
730: CKAC Weak, multiple fades, but mostly on top of CKDM
1200: CFGO First time catch at my location with WRTO nulled. Easily blowing out WOAI
1280: CFMB "Beautiful" instrumentals with voicetracked female announcer in English. French music after 5am
1310: CIWW getting the better of WIBA

And in the other direction.....

1700: KKLF, Richardson, TX. Strong. Music in Spanish. Commercials in English. Suspect 5kw day power

Nice pipeline to Canada.

Caught a new station unexpectedly on 1320 last night at 11:12 p.m. CT. While aiming N/S and trying (unsuccessfully) to hear XEARZ, a weak signal popped up amongst the mess with a Notre Dame vs. Rutgers basketball game. It matched the stream of KCLI in Clinton, OK, at 0.108 kW night power and 409 miles distance.

Does anyone know who would be playing regional Mexican music on 1320? I was hearing that in and out. Although both XECPN and XERJ are supposedly retired according to mwist.org, I found a streams for both of them on Simple Radio; however, the songs didn't match XERJ's stream, and XECPN is now Arroba (English/Spanish pop).

An interesting one. The IRCA Mexican log shows a CP to replace XECPN and another CP for Mexico City (not ZER). Grupo ZER's website still shows their station as being on 1650. I heard XEZER fairly often when it was on 1650 but haven't heard it in ages so assume it moved. ZER doesn't play regional Mexican music.

Another possibility - NRC Log lists KRDD in Roswell, NM "La Doble D". According to Wikipedia it's off the air, though. 500w KSDT in California is a remote possibility. I'll check from here, but will be tough with local KXYZ. I haven't noticed Mexican music on 1320 before.

Nice pipeline to Canada.
From at least my unscientific observation, the conditions that were forecast for this past week appear to have not materialized. I didn't get a chance to DX as much as I typically do during the past several days, but when I did, things seemed to be, if anything, better than normal.

As for the "pipeline to Canada". I spent last night at my brother in law's house not far from you in Evanston (near Golf Rd and McCormick Rd.), and managed to sneak in a little pre-dawn DX. The thing that stood out was CFRY alone on 920 strong and all alone. I definitely wasn't expecting that.

I haven't noticed a big difference either. As unscientific as this may be I was listening to the Kaneohe, Hawaii receiver last night. Mainland signals were good and I did hear WBBM in back of KKOH.
