Villanova on Q102?

It seems that tonight’s Villanova game is on Q102 and 102.5 The Gambler. Has this ever happened before?

Interesting story. iHeart got the Villanova contract in September, and was airing games on 1480/102.5 Fox Sports. But the signal is weak, and it's the NCAA playoffs, so they figured they'd put this game on FM.

In the meantime WIP has the national NCAA contract with Westwood One, so they probably also aired the same game with their announcers. Or perhaps they ran the Arkansas-Gonzaga game. Or both.

Last season, when Beasley had the Villanova contract, some games would air on BEN FM.

It did! I was really confused. Need to check for Saturday’s game to see if it happens again.
If iHeart has the rights to Villanova sports on the radio, it would make sense to put it on one of the bigger signals when it's such a big game like this.

I would more expect it to go on 104.5 though. But it makes sense. Barely anyone knows The Gambler exists.

No American team sport has been hit by gambling scandals as frequently as college basketball, and one of the biggest took place right here in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic in the '50s, so Villanova climbing into bed with a tout station is, well, interesting. (Soccer is probably the overall GOAT of game fixing, followed by cricket, but most of that unsavory activity has happened on other continents. And you notice I said "team sports." Obviously, boxing and horse racing are in a crooked league of their own and have always been, but that's part of their charm.)
