A few things:
-The jocks typically refer to the station as 93XRT, so it would be rare to hear Annalisa refer to the station as WXRT, when she's on the air.
-'XRT has been doing a Rock/AAA/AOR/Progressive format part-time beginning in 1972, which turned into a full-time rock format in 1976.
-Most of the full-timers at XRT have each been there 30-40 years, if not more. They are all seasoned pros. Therefore, many of their voices are like family to its listeners.
-With her past experience, Annalisa should fit in perfectly.
-It has not been announced yet what shift Annalisa will have, but just recently, their morning guy (Richard Milne) has resigned from the morning show, to take care of his wife who is currently sick.
-Years ago, Terri Hemmert made Chicago radio history by becoming the first female morning radio show host in Chicago, on WXRT. Will Annalisa get the morning show time slot? We'll find out June 13th.
-For decades, WXRT was excellently programmed by ex WBCN PD Norm Winer. Even though 93XRT still plays rock, times have changed, and the station has been through a few ownership changes. Unfortunately, from a long-time listener point of view, the station hasn't been the same since Norm left.
