I don’t really know about geofence. I’m not a digital guy. What is it?So why haven't you geofenced your streaming yet? Are there so few out-of-market users of the stream that cutting them off wouldn't significantly reduce your fees?

107.7 , if not gold based country, should be simulcasting WGR. Ton of money to be made doing that. I cannot get GR have the time at my house in LancasterMy point exactly! Let's see they could have filled in the weak spots in KB's coverage with....107.7....no? Just throwing it out there!
Our steaming listeners in Buffalo is huge. Our SEASAC royalty fees top over $2,500 per month. 4 years ago, that number was about $ 200 per month.
Limiting your streaming to a specific geographical area, such as the boundaries of the Buffalo market.I don’t really know about geofence. I’m not a digital guy. What is it?
Yes, my bad. I meant Sound Exchange for streaming/app BMI/ASCAP/SEASAC Royalties over airDo you mean Sound Exchange? They charge for digital royalties. SESAC is the smallest of the publishing royalties. There's also BMI and ASCAP.
In the case of WBEN, it was dismal failure. The simulcast on 107.7 FM did not grow the audience while at the same time they lost The Lake revenue. Entercom wouldn't have given up the simulcast if it was working. The pipe dream of finding new listeners for WBENs vitriol died a grim death...What you don't know is how much the FM helped preserve the audience of the AM. In several cases, declining AM talk formats have reversed the trend by adding FM; they did not improve, but they stabilized.
If true, why has Entercom Audacy burned through 3 formats since The Lake? The WBEN simulcast failed. WGR would fare no better on 107.7 Where does that extra revenue come from? Putting WGR on FM would only make sense if they planned to jettison the AM signal...107.7 , if not gold based country, should be simulcasting WGR. Ton of money to be made doing that. Sound Exchange collects performance fees for recordings for label and artist royalties. It does not collect for compositions.Yes, my bad. I meant Sound Exchange for streaming/app BMI/ASCAP/SEASAC Royalties over air

Right! They are principally used to avoid the total death of the AM band due to the aging of the existing audience and the lack of any new ones in the sales demos.Simulcasts are not designed to "grow the audience." The latest example is KNX in LA.

WBEN FM 1077 was an experiment they thought would work because of conservative talk and a conservative geography.
There was zero buzz, and really no addition revenue. I personally would of hired a salesperson exclusively for the outlying areas
As I recall, The Lake was on the air for 7 or 8 years. Entercom dropped it for the WBEN FM simulcast. After they saw the futility, they chose to try Alternative. They would have been better off bringing The Lake back(or something similar AAA). The 107.7 signal is suited for a niche format that will create some listener passion. As you pointed out, Corporate does not care about that...The brass then figured it out, which brought on the Lake. In my opinion, that was far better than anything since.
Yep. Dumbest thing they ever did. I was in the room when they announced it and almost threw up.As I recall, The Lake was on the air for 7 or 8 years. Entercom dropped it for the WBEN FM simulcast. What has changed at WYRK under the new PD?Was it a buy or trade? You tell me.
Bob Barnett is a radio genius. I've been a fan of his for years. Audacy lost a lot when they lost him.
What has changed at WYRK under the new PD?
Maybe it's that there's an adult in the room.Three straight books at #1.
