I have some old equipment, but have to look - it's been awhile. 500's are single line with rotary dial. 1500's and 2500's are single line touch tone. 565, 1565, 2565 and numbers like that are 5 line.

I checked what I have and found an ITT 2565 5 line touch tone phone with an exclusion key plunger. However it contains no actual internal exclusion key switch nor any sign it ever contained one. Apparently ITT used the same case and plunger for all of their phones. I am fairly certain I once had AT&T phones with the full switch assembly, but probably gave them away. The remaining units are packed in boxes with the Boston Globe dated 2010 - so it's hard to remember.

There are a few companies still selling phones of this era. They may have some with the full exclusion key.

What are you trying to do, there are tons of options that Western Electric offered with the 500 dial and 2500 TouchTone sets that can simply be done with a toggle switch?

The actual use of a WE exclusion key was so the set could be used to make or receive a call bridge it with another device and hang up the hook switch without disconnecting the connected device from the line.

Are you trying to do that or something else?

Mmmmm I seem to recall 97.5 KAYD had an 8000 in the rack long before 106.1 came along...I was DJ at KAYC/KAYD in 77-79...

Yes....I have a voice coupler that connects in-line with the phone....once the phone is active, the exclusion key keeps the phone from "hanging up" and -- in the case of a remote broadcast -- taking you off the air!!
