KRFX simulcasting KBCO?

There are subtle but noticeable differences between KQMT and KRFX.

KRFX, for example, plays quite a bit of Metallica. It even plays the Offspring and Rob Zombie. They seem to be throwing a bone to the crowd who used to listen to KBPI but can no longer do so given its severe signal downgrade.
And in terms of KQMT, they are borderline Adult Hits with a rock lean. They play conventional classic rock fare from the late 60s through the 90s, but are also playing artists like Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Prince, Tracy Chapman, and pop one hit wonders John Parr, John Waite, and Eddy Grant, all in rotation. Their audience overlaps, but their presentations and playlists differ enough that they are different products.

@JeeperOne How likely would a Jack FM comeback be, if they tried 103.5? We all know that KJAC used to have one, but they don't anymore, so is this on the table? Problem is, most Jack-FM affiliates are under the Audacy brand, but I thought Jack could broker out to different brands and stations?
Try SLIM & NONE !!

People were DANCING IN THE STREETS when 102.3 / 105.5 FINALLY became the ESPN Radio affiliate

I barley remember Ralph, but he did good for the Nuggets. By the way, Mile High Sports moved from 1340/104.7 to 98.1.
A sports talker NO ONE cares about anymore since they passed on affiliating with ** BOTH ** NBC Sports Radio (When it was around) ** AND ** CBS Sports Radio (Which is now on AM 1430 (Albeit shared with the Bet QL Network as some shows are by CBS Sports Radio & both are owned by Entercomm as AM 1430 itself is) to remain affiliated with that CRAPPY then SB Nation Radio (Which is now Sportsmap & probably still just as crappy)

Plus (For some people), it blocks the more popular longtime Classic Rocker out of Colorado Springs while most others (Like me here in Englewood) can't get EITHER ONE

Ah yes, KKFM on 98.1! Denver translators seem to be very hit/miss at times, but what other solutions are possible at the moment

Was that because they didn't like Jack, or because sports is a big draw anyways? That was the baseline for the KUBE/KJR discussion, as KUBE was successful, but sports is an easy to copy and paste format that will draw some listeners.

People in Denver HATED the "Jack" format (Plus the 105.5 side was RIGHT NEXT to monster KXKL as it's on 105.1)

Both 102.3 & 105.5 are still simulcasting each other but were sold to Colorado Public Radio, who use the pair today for a station to compete with KUVO 89.3

105.5 KJAC only dropped the format because Front Range Sports Network wanted to focus on its Sports programming. The brand was successful enough at that time for Max Media to briefly resurrect it on 107.1. Its failure had nothing to do with people "hating" the format nor its dial placement next to KXKL, but rather the business focus of the ownership of the station at the time.

That's news to pretty much everyone...

105.5 KJAC is owned by Community Radio for Northern Colorado along with 91.5 KUNC as AAA "105.5 The Colorado Sound".
102.3 is owned by Colorado Public Radio as AAA/Alternative "Indie 102.3".

KUVO is and was Jazz formatted.
