Canadian series in the United States

Fraggle Rock on HBO was a CBC Production (as were several early HBO Specials, and even a few movies) CTV's The Littlest Hobo ran in US Syndication in the late 70's and through the 80's.
Jim Henson earlier had made Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas (1977) for CBC, and it aired there a year before its U.S. premiere on HBO. It remained a holiday staple on HBO through the '80s except for one year (1980) when it was broadcast on ABC.

Alanis was only on You Can't Do That on Television for 5 episodes.....

Nobody that had children in the 1908's has mentioned The Elephant Show, a morning staple on Nickelodeon
I WAS a kid in the '80s, and definitely remember The Elephant Show on both Nick Jr. and CBC. Also Fred Penner's Place. I even saw Sharon, Lois and Bram live in Detroit as a kid.

"Under the Umbrella Tree" (made at CBC Ottawa) aired on Disney Channel IIRC. "Blizzard Island" (another, short-lived CBC show from the late '80s) made it on some PBS stations too, I think. Speaking of CBC shows airing on PBS, the '80s CBC version of Anne of Green Gables (with Megan Follows as Anne) aired on "Wonderworks." CBC itself even parodied that PBS show as "Waterworks" with a takeoff of Anne at one point.

The amazing part is that I heard stuff that at one point Toronto and Vancouver areas were mentioned as the filming capitals of Canada with lots of "American" shows filmed from those locations because of cost reasons. Case and point Toronto used as a filming location for "New York" and "Chicago" scenes. Vancouver for San Francisco and Seattle scenes type examples here.

Also at one time TV Ontario used to release telecourse programming to PBS affiliates under the local label Instructional programming in the 1980's and 1990's.
I definitely remember this. KCPT in Kansas City, MO & KMOS in Sedalia\Warrensburg, MO used to air TVO shows like the Magic Library, Take a Look, Read All About It, Amigos & others during their "instructional television" blocks.
