Thanks for the update! The new calls are WMJV.
Why would simulcast with it since it is already 100,000 watts 103.3?Those new letters are very close to cluster mate WMGV "V-103.3", but the two signals don't make sense as a simulcast.
The new call letters took effect today! That would be more likely, I would think, if there's something to the similar calls.
What areas? I remember hearing WNCT in Myrtle Beach before there was The Gator. And it certainly had a good signal in Raleigh. They will be cannibalizing sister station V 103.3, unless changes are coming to that signal, as radioinsight.com seems to hint. Maybe V goes a more general AC as it covers some areas better than 107.9 WNCT.
Being able to hear a station outside its market does not mean it has a better signal...What areas? I remember hearing WNCT in Myrtle Beach before there was The Gator. And it certainly had a good signal in Raleigh.
But when the signal is that strong, it seems the chances are good it will be.Being able to hear a station outside its market does not mean it has a better signal...
The only thing important to a station is being able to be heard inside buildings within its home market.
Yeah I wonder that myself too.WNCT does have an excellent signal, though WMGV's looks a bit more robust in Morehead City , Atlantic Beach, and central Carteret. In Jacksonville/Onslow, it's basically a draw between the two signals. Neither are the population center of the market, though. Regardless, I can't see the logic in two Hot AC formats under the same roof, and I wonder the 'end game'
