Alt 92.3 to Become WINS Simulcast

First, someone else who is a voice artist does the legal ID, and then Ed Sheeran gives his short message about 1010 WINS on 92.3 FM.
Broadway/Encanto composer Lin-Manuel Miranda has replaced Ed Sheeran as the celebrity who tells the listeners that 1010 WINS can now be heard on 92.3 FM after the legal ID.

That makes more sense since he is 1) a New Yorker, 2) a fixture of the New York institution that is Broadway.

Honestly, WINS should have just done this with New York and New York-associated celebrities.

I paid closer attention to the message after the legal ID, and he says, "This is Lin-Manuel Miranda. You're listening to 1010 WINS on 92.3 FM."

I agree. I'm sure that there will probably be other celebrities who will give little messages after the legal ID, preferably those who are associated with New York and who are familiar with 1010 WINS.

Hell, they could have picked musicians from New York. Lady Gaga? Alicia Keys? Mariah Carey? Jennifer Lopez? Jay-Z? Billy Joel? Even Taylor Swift has a song about New York!
Howard thought the same thing I did: Ed Sheeran was probably in the building doing some kind of interview, probably down the hall at 102.7, and they pulled him aside to have him do some reads. The usual "Hi I'm Ed Sheeran, and you're listening to NEW 102.7" or some crap, and then made him read this.

Anybody know the initial ratings for 92.3 WINS?
There is no public release of the separate AM and FM numbers. That is only available confidentially in a paid extra report.

This is the date table for the PPM books:

There won't even be anything conclusive about the addition of FM until the November book is released; we just got Week 1 of that book today. So it will be three more weeks just to see the transition.

Those of us with access to the weeklies can see this starting now, but we are not allowed to discuss weeklies even with advertisers.

I hope it does horribly.
It will gradually strengthen the 35-64 numbers, but it will take at least 6 months to "burn in".

Heck, look at the FM dial in Mexico City, the largest market in the Americas: 11 news, news talk and talk formats out of 33 FMs that are home to the market which now has just over 22 million people.

... and that is a mean sentiment. Most radio abandoned all efforts to do any news coverage thirty or more years ago, so having a news station on FM is of great value.
