Currently the WMYA signal is being used for ATSC 3.0 (NextGen TV) simulcasts of 4.1, 7.1, 13.1, 21.1, and 40.1. 40's various subchannels are now hosted on the other stations, but keep their 40.x virtual channel numbers, so there's a chance that you might get some and not the others, if you don't receive one of the host stations and don't have a compatible TV (like me). I didn't have any trouble receiving WMYA in Spartanburg on an indoor antenna prior to the switch.

So in a way, there is an WLOS simulcast in the Upstate, but 99.99% can't get it. The translator upgrades may help for some.
The new NextGen signal indeed helps resolve the 13-WLOS reception problem in the Upstate, but you need a new TV with the built in ATSC 3.0 receiver. Sony models seem to be the most affordable, although you can watch for Samsung QN90B model NeoQLED to be on holiday sale pricing. Good tuner and nice Samsung smart interface and great picture. There are also external tuner boxes from Zapperbox and Silicon Dust HD Homerun 4K edition if you want a lower priced option and not yet ready to purchase a new TV.

On the subject of TV. More of a programming comment, and I know it’s just a 2 hour prime time service but GSP has to be one of the larger markets without a MyNetworkTV affiliate.

Isn't WLOS 13.2 still a MyNetworkTV affiliate?
