Alt 92.3 to Become WINS Simulcast

I wonder if the FM sounds too quiet and the added the reverb to fill the space between the words? If that is the reason, just bring back the teletype to fill. :)
Reverb... Just another reason I have to remember to change my radio presets. I always forget and then get frustrated while driving hearing WINS on 92.3. No doubt there will be teletype next to go full retard.

Could you please refrain from using this term? As a Special Education Teacher I take offense to this term. Thank you.

It doesn't even make sense in the context. I'm hoping autocorrect sabotaged his intended "retro." Otherwise, I'm with you on the use of "retard."

Lol, if the masses of asses really cared about sound quality, then nobody would listen to music on satalite radio or even streaming to a degree.
That's music, spoken word content is even much less important than that.
So, if I'm a high good night everybody and my radio has always been on 1010 and the signal is listenable, 92.3 isn't really top of mind or Worth the initiative to switch to.
Now, they aren't the total population, thank God, but in NYC metro area They are the majority (I've driven on those roads all around NYC so I've first hand experienced that majority who always are "L"ing lol 😂😆) -dibbitydibbity!

This morning I heard the anchor encouraging listeners on 1010 AM to switch to 92.3 FM. AM or FM it is still shootings, stabbings, fires, natural disasters, corrupt politicians, etc.

I saw a WINS listener on another site saying he preferred to stay with the AM broadcast because it made it easier to switch back and forth between the two news stations, 1010 WINS and WCBS 880.

I'll admit this is typically the way I use the NYC news stations too. I'll punch the first one up, if they're not talking about what I want to hear I'll punch over to the other one and then back and forth to hear what I like. I would be surprised if this isn't common behavior for many, if not most listeners to those two stations, and it's much easier to do if you stay on the same band.

It will be interesting to see if the predicted migration to FM is slower for WINS than similar transitions have been elsewhere due to this sort of listening habit in NYC.

Audacy blew up a music format and sacrificed its revenue stream to migrate WINS so if listeners don't follow along then it matters.

They factored that in when they made the move. They're not going to abandon 1010. They can't make more money because the station is on FM. This is a long term move that might have benefits in the long run. We won't see the breakout between AM & FM in the free 6+ numbers.

In fact, even Audacy won't see the AM and FM break unless it orders and pays for a special report (or has such services included in its corporate deal with Nielsen). Even the ad agencies won't see the AM and FM numbers separately even though they get the full report with demos and age tables and other features.

I'm still hoping the FM feed will fail and we'll once again have alternative rock!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I am still hoping to win the lottery.

(I believe my chances are better than yours, though.)
