Het on 1320

Over the past couple of evenings while dxing, I am hearing a fairly strong het on 1320, around a 280 hz tone. Anyone else hearing this? Located in the mid-south near Huntsville, AL.

Low side or high side of 1320 ?
Preliminary snap judgement from here is Cuba, but with the wild west 'restrictions' now amid the US domestic stations, well .......

Steve, it appears to be on the low side of 1320. On my Yaesu rig, I start hearing it on 1315.20 kHz and it fades out on 1322.50. There may be a Cuban on 1320 but it is not one of the frequencies I normally would hear them on but is possible. On a similar note there is also a warbling sound underneath WWL on 870 tonight, which has been mentioned previously on this forum as a possible Cuban station underneath.

Since Cuba moved to the state-of-the-art Chinese transmitters, installed by Chinese techs, I don't think that there has been a single report of one being off frequency.

That "Warbling" on 870 KHz has been present for quite some time, at least 1-2 years, and has been discussed at great length in other threads. General consensus is its Cuba. Strong here this morning in SE Michigan.

Are you sure all of their transmitters are state of the art? On SW, one of their transmitters has distortion half the time, and the other one has low mod nearly all of the time. Of course, that could be somewhere in the audio chain ahead of the transmitter.

Could this be the one at 6000 kHz? If so, that would explain why it is so hard for me to hear, even when I have a decent signal.

Hmm, OK. That's too bad, since I get it so clearly that it would be quite listenable if it weren't so quiet. It sort of gets buried in what little static I do get.
