Weigel Buying W27EA-D in Cleveland/Akron

When I got my new TV several years ago, I was only able to connect DVD player. I still have VCR but it's not connected. I don't have DVR.

Looks like The Dick Cavett Show will not fit with their new "all comedy" format.. Dick's shows were some of the best talk shows ever on TV.

Last edited:
Cavett had some legendary guests on his show - Alfred Hitchcock, Orson Welles, Groucho Marx, Jack Benny, Milton Berle and others. I usually tried to watch when one of them was on.

Well, here's what's there now:

1:30a - Get Smart
2a - Sgt. Bilko (Phil Silvers Show)
2:30a - Car 54 Where Are You?
3a - Dobie Gillis
3:30a - Abbott and Costello
4a - Our Miss Brooks (X2)
5a - Dark Shadows (X2)

So outside of replacing the definitely non-sitcom Dark Shadows, they really don't have to do too much, and can pretty much leave it as is.
Here's the new overnight lineup on the soon to be Catchy Comedy:

1:30a - Honeymooners
2a - Sgt. Bilko (Phil Silvers Show)
2:30a - Dobie Gillis
3a - Laugh-In
4a - Ed Sullivan
5a - Our Miss Brooks (X2)

Decades is doing a 77 Sunset Strip marathon this weekend. I'll have to try to catch a few episodes. Not sure if/when I'll be able to see this show again once they switch to sitcoms.

Probably will be exclusive to MeTV+ afterwards. Nothing has been announced if the weekend binge will consist solely of comedy based shows, though many viewers fear that this will be the case.

WOCV just renamed 35-1 to CATCHY, and capitalized all the letters for the label on 35-2.
CatchyTV logo?

Look's too much like "Buzzr!"(s), which is not a Weigel network. Kind of wonder the reasoning (if there even is one). It's a more "Festive" type logo, but I would rather see something similar to Story's.

The more stylized letters and boxed logo. Do seem more like a Weigel thing than what they are using with CatchyTV. (Which still sounds like some sort of new Covid varitation rather than a network).

I noticed that too. I can see some people confusing the two logos as they look somewhat alike. I just hope that the on-screen logo excludes the circle and just shows the text as that would lead to further confusion and additional clutter on the screen.

It has been a year since Weigel Broadcasting took over what is now WOCV-CD. Any additional thoughts or comments?

Well, since they snagged it, they were able to get cable coverage in Cleveland (Spectrum channel 15), so it's reach/exposure got expanded big time.

And Decades/Catchy Comedy is a clear upgrade from the bargain store stuff that was on Retro.

So all in all, a definite step up from where they were 365 days ago
