NYC Metro Radio Ratings: April 2023

Cause there is no other choice in the market for Hot AC music… though WNEW never is as high as WLTW they are successful even beating WKTU and WHTZ at times which WNEW also competes with in addition to WLTW.
WLTW is #1 in 25-54, and WNEW is #4. They will both "be on the buy" and get very close to the same rates.

While WHTZ is usually in the same neighborhood in the sales demo, the other main music competitors are WCBS-FM and WSKQ.

I sample WNEW from time to time and I think the music sounds the best it’s sounded in probably 6-7 years. They deserve the success they’re having.

I remember the days of the train wreck that was Blink 102.7 and Mix 102.7. I think when they became Fresh they really made a smart move. I'm a little bias because they chose my favorite song "How to Save a Life" By The Fray as their first song as Fresh.

Thats how music is funny i hate that song its sounds like the guy is half asleep & just mumbling on.

It’s still common on the radio on Hot AC and AC stations. However music wise most of the stations in NYC lean somewhat toward Rhythmic AC than other stations with the same format in most other markets. Hot 97 and WWPR don’t necessarily lean toward that since they are already Rhythmic/Urban without any dance titles and WKTU already has that format.
