But they all have exactly the same rating, and that is how agency buys are made. KLNO and KZPS are also in the multi-station rating 0.2 tie in 18-34.Wow, KBFB and KKDA-FM beat KHKS in 18-34. Impressive.

More like a turkey.... Just ask Les Nessman šHave you listened to it? Not entertaining or compelling programming in the least. Now that we're out of basketball season, and there's been no Mavs PBP in a few weeks, where do they go? The Ticket is doing extremely well in all aspects, but this thing is dropping faster than a duck shot out of the sky.
...or would that be an eagle? It would seem, at this juncture, to be a worse decision than flipping it to Sunny.
Thereās no point in flipping KEGL back to The Eagle and playing rock again. They had no answer for KVIL kicking their asses in the first place. All that will happen is KVIL wiping the floor with them again. The audience has moved on.Be critical, but understand nothing is going to happen to KEGL if they are making budget and turning a profit.
at this point, the only way The Freak can be a major success is to steal the radio broadcasting rights of the Dallas Cowboys away from 105.3 The Fan, but that's not gonna happen anytime soon. let's be honest, the only reason why the Fan has managed to make it to almost 15 years was the fact the Cowboys moved their radio network to that station.Thereās no point in flipping KEGL back to The Eagle and playing rock again. KVIL plays the big 90ās and 00ās rock records that KEGL did and plays enough rock currents to scratch that itch too. Mid-day DJ Ian Camfield has carved out a niche for himself in Dallas. If they were to flip back they would have to find an answer for what KVIL has and understand why KEGL got steamrolled so quickly and thoroughly. The evidence for now says that iHeart either doesnāt have the answer or is unwilling to spend the time and money to find it. Might as well stay the course and see if they can get The Freak to work.
They did at North Texas Mean Green football from what I seeat this point, the only way The Freak can be a major success is to steal the radio broadcasting rights of the Dallas Cowboys away from 105.3 The Fan, but that's not gonna happen anytime soon. let's be honest, the only reason why the Fan has managed to make it to almost 15 years was the fact the Cowboys moved their radio network to that station.
Is KEGL just airing the games or producing the games for the Mean Green Radio Network. I think KNTU will still be the head end for the network. They did at North Texas Mean Green football from what I see
Considering KNTU is non-commercial, I highly doubt it.Is KEGL just airing the games or producing the games for the Mean Green Radio Network. I think KNTU will still be the head end for the network.
Actually KNTU in the past produced the games and distribution was handled by Learfield. When I worked at KHYI, we got the feed from KNTU.Considering KNTU is non-commercial, I highly doubt it.
Who would have thought that UNT football would have the ābestā radio outlet in the Metroplex over TCU and SMU, much less Texas, A&M, and Baylor.
Hence the rebrand. As a little bonus, EMF threw them a couple bucks to get Audacy to do it a little quicker.KLUV #2 in 6+ whilst not being any higher than #9 within 25-54. Is KLUV even too geezer sounding? It doesn't seem so to me, at least not any more than other Classic Hits stations.
Thanks for posting that story. I took over the GM job from Wally Tucker and was able to make some changes specifically bringing in Terry Dorsey to do the morning show and later I added Mark Watkins as News Director. When Dorsey started, he brought his Hiney with him from Dayton and the rest is radio history. The station moved from #17 to #1 in just 7 years. Unfortunately, Susquehanna was not able to hold on to Dorsey mainly because they were not paying him a competitive salary in line with his performance and he jumped ship and went to cross-town rival KSCS for over 3 times what he was being paid at KPLX. When he got to KSCS he moved that station to #1 in Arbitron, a position it held for 19 consecutive rating books, a record for Dallas/Ft Worth radio. This was in spite of being up against Ron Chapman and KVIL. There is lots of information on this on YouTube under Dave Skyler's series called Radio Memories.KPLX flipped from MOR (Pop/Adult) to Country on Jan. 18, 1980.
You can read all about the flip in the KPLX/KLIF chapter of the 50th anniversary book issued by Susquehanna Radio, here:
