Radio One’s two stations in DFW (KBFB/KZMJ) could become four if they were to buy Service Broadcasting KKDA/KRNB) whose owner is getting up there in years and might want to sell.They currently own two stations in Dallas and two in Philadelphia.
RO is in expansion mode, and not necessarily in African-American targeted formats, as witnessed by their pending acquisition of highly ranked Country and Classic Rock stations in Houston. SBS is also about to enter Houston (RO spin-off) but no word yet on any specific format, so they are expanding as well.
