I've heard VCY on WVBN in NYC (103.9) and it's 20% God, 80% Trump (though the two are one in the same to these sorts of Christians).
id wager with a slanted view, hes exageratingAre your serious? I come from the old school, where religion was separate from politics. Is VCY really programming 80% (or at least a majority) of political propaganda on their stations?
A bit of an exaggeration, but not much.id wager with a slanted view, hes exagerating
With VCY, EMF and others, at least their listeners are supporting the ministry by choice. In the case of the tax-exempt CPB and NPR (which most liberals defend), even people never listen to it or disagree with their views must support these organizations through forced tax dollars. So if you want to complain about tax-exempt radio, add government funded public broadcasting in there as well.
Religion and politics are inextricably linked in the GQP. Yeah, you’ll find the occasional exception, but those are rare.
Presently, NPR receives funding for less than 1% of its budget directly from the federal government, but receives almost 10% of its budget from federal, state, and local governments indirectly.
That's 90% of their funding from donors, grants, etc.
The amount of money each tax payer gives that ends up going to the corporation for public broadcasting amounts to about $2.50 a year. If anyone wants that money back, message me here and I'll personally give it back to you out of my own pocket.
It might be easy to lump them together because of their religious nature but there's a massive format difference between the likes of K-Love and VCY.I don’t hear any political views on K-Love or Air-1. Although admittedly it’s been a few years since I’ve listened to either one.
And Tallahassee, where I was the corporate manager for a couple of stations a couple of decades ago. It had the classic bar that "was a good place for a beer and a fight".But Jacksonville and Pensacola are, right?
I also supervised an AM/FM in Lake City, which is sorta' like a southern extension of Valdosta, GA.The further south you go in Florida, it seems, the less Southern it gets. The country singer John Anderson is from Apopka, in north central Florida, and his accent is as Southern as kudzu and palmetto bugs.
Damn! That means my 42 years as a working taxpayer sent $110 to the CPB, money that could now buy me three tins of gummies at the local dispensary with $15 left over for pizza and soda? That's TYRANNY! Please send that check to me ASAP!

NPR receives less than 1% of its funding from the CPB. The vast majority of CPB's funding goes directly to individual stations, most of which are located in small, conservative towns, which often have little to no locally-oriented commercial radio programming.JJSPC said:So if you want to complain about tax-exempt radio, add government funded public broadcasting in there as well.
Its hard to say a "majority", because close to half of the broadcast day is filled with traditional Christian music with a vignette from a preacher once or twice an hour. Are your serious?
