I don't listen to much radio between 12a and 6a, so I haven't really checked out WMMR since they went jock-less in overnights about a year ago. Was out last night and two things really surprised me:
No WMMR "new music" sweeper before new songs?
For two different "b" or "c" rotation songs, they just played standard 'MMR IDs between the previous library cut and the new song, not the "MMR New Music" style sweeper they've been playing for years. I could understand that for their heavy rotation cuts, but why wouldn't they use that same presentation in overnights that they use for the other 16 hours of the day?
Went right into the 12:50am stopset without any sort of ID?
They went right from music into spots without any sort of "More 'MMR Music, Next..." style sweeper, which really seemed odd. Are they just going straight from songs into spots all night long?
Just seemed odd for a station like 'MMR to just throw the overnight hours against the wall like that and not have a more polished presentation. I mean, they could create a single "More MMR Music... Next" sweeper, use it 2x an hour for all of the automated hours and call it a day.
Or, did I just happen to catch an hour where someone didn't insert what they were supposed to into the schedule?
