Orlando Spanish radio

This section is for Tampa but anybody can share ratings in Orlando for Spanish stations. It has been a battle there for the past year, 3 stations Cox, IHeart and SBS all claiming to be #1 .

any thoughts/info that anybody can share

There is an Orlando section. Can anyone move it there?

I know that SBS tends to be a bit braggy about their ratings. I distinctly remember when WZNT in San Juan released a print ad about how they beat WPRM in the ratings, and then WPRM did a comedy skit spoofing the daytime talk show "José Luis sin Censura" about how they fudged the numbers.

Only numbers publicly allowed to be shared:

With SBS, it truly depends on one timeslot being #1 for the station to be #1 in their eyes. Let's say "El Despelote" is the #1 morning show in Tampa while the ratings for other shows are in the dumps. SBS would say they're #1 over the radio, but only elaborate on that in a press release or a print advert.

WOEX has made a bit of a comeback, I guess we’ll see if it’s a trend or a fluke. WPYO seems to have hurt them.

Do any of the AM Spanish stations in Orlando have any discernible audience anymore? I spend a lot of time in the Maitland/Winter Park area, and the AM dial is extremely noisy especially after dark, I assume from Cuba.

The Spanish AMs have little audience, and most are not subscribed so even subscribers don't see the numbers unless an individual station gets a rating of 0.1 or over... and that would be a share of about 1.4 today.

And most of the few Spanish AMs are getting translators, particularly around the Kissimmee area.

The problem with FM translators in Orlando is spotty coverage, due to flat terrain and suburban sprawl. I suppose it's better than nothing. Several years ago, I recall 1270 in Orlando being listed with a broker for 5 Million 🤣 In the end, I don't believe anything close to that.
