I don't think there's anything intrinsically wrong with the use of that job title these days. The job is bigger than "PD" once encompassed, because you're overseeing more than just one linear channel of radio programming. You're also overseeing related podcasts and digital content - literally managing an entire brand.A brand manager.
How fancy.
The above link doesn't mention that. It says she is transitioning from TV News Director to this gig. Sort of like booking passage on the Titanic after the ship hit the iceberg...Wasn't she fired from WBEN during the coverage of the Tops mass shooting for creating a "toxic work environment?"

The audience is dwindling because they are literally dying off. There are no new listeners to replace them. The ratings slide is no surprise. WBEN may still be generating decent revenue, but it's a spit in the ocean compared to Audacy's debt crisis...Age takes a toll on everything, especially talk-radio. It would be no surprise to see WBEN settle in the 4-6 share range,
Advertisers largely don't care about nights. Their spending is focused on drives and middays. There's no incentive for a talk station to do any more at night than what most do, and that's sports or syndicated programming.I find it interesting
_ WBEN gets Thursday night football when the Sabres are playing.
Wben could do so much more at 🌙 night......
