WIVM/13 North Royalton lights up?

I have been told that the new WIVM/13 tower lit up. I'm not getting any signal on channel 13, a little south of downtown Cleveland. Anybody in Cuyahoga County receiving this channel?

Nothing just north of Parmatown either. Which kind of makes sense if it isn't in South Parma.

Curiously, when I rescanned the TV showed channels 10.1 through 10.4 but as "No signal". Also, for better or worse, my TV didn't pick up WQDI 20 and WEKA 41 (Which is actually, like a favor).

What is WIVM supposed to broadcast when it hits the air? Does anyone know? I'm kind of hoping a Northern signal for WIVM (39) in Canton.

Nothing here where I'm at (Aurora). I couldn't receive them when they were broadcasting from Akron as well. My Uncle lives in Bedford, and he can't receive WIVX-LD either, despite the signal being a bit stronger where he's at.

The problem comes down to the hi-VHF frequency that they broadcast on. Not only is the hi-VHF band more prone to electrical interference and requires a larger antenna, WIVX's RF 13 is shoehorned between two other stations on the same frequency, which doesn't help either. This not only limits WIVX's coverage, but it also means that it's easily wiped out under the slightest amount of tropospheric ducting, especially from WTVG in Toledo. Unless you're located in the green, don't expect to get a decodable signal from them.

I really wish that they would have bought WRAP-LD. At least they have a decent signal that nobody currently watches. They could have also bought KONV-LD from HC2 Broadcasting, moved the transmitter to Parma and upped the power to 15 kW, although, they would have to limit their signal to the west to protect WNWO in Toledo.

Sounds like your TV had an issue programming in WOIO.

WQDI is messed up. It's been broadcasting dead air for about a month now. I contacted them about it but it hasn't been fixed yet. I can receive all the HC2 stations, but KONV and WQDI are the ones that pop in and out constantly. WUEK & WEKA come in for the most part, as long as they are not being weaken by interfering out of market station.

WIVX-LD is a repeater of WIVM-LD.

13.1 - Local/Independent
13.2 - This TV
13.3 - The Grio
13.4 - NewsNet
13.5 - Retro TV
13.6 - Heartland
13.7 - Ace TV
13.8 - Jewelry TV

Maybe HC2 Broadcasting should consider selling WQDI-LD to the owners of WIVM-LD so that they can greatly improve and optimize their coverage in the Cleveland area. Apparently HC2 Broadcasting doesn't give a rat's behind about maintaining WQDI-LD, as its been broadcasting dead air for well over a month now. It was broken at the beginning of this year too, and it was like that for about 4 months until I finally sent them a message about it. If they are not going to maintain WQDI-LD, either sell it off or return the license so that someone else can file for that frequency.

Still no luck in my area. I really need to move the TV and antenna upstairs and try aiming south.

It looks like WIVM finally changed part of its webpage to indicate "Cleveland" in the Channel 13 logo.

Subject of channels 20 & 41. While the snow is an "improvement", they might really win viewers over if they just turned the license over to someone who would actually care about it.

Good luck. I thought the move would yield in an improvement for me, until I realized that there's a nearby hill in my direction blocking the signal. And this hill is taller than the tower and is no more than a few miles away from it. It's amazing that the signal gets out as far east as the coverage map shows, that is, if the map is correct.

COL should be North Royalton, as so far I haven't heard any reports from viewers being able to receive WIVX-LD from downtown. It's also pretty bad when viewers in Parma can't even receive them, despite being close to their transmitter and having a very strong signal.

WQDI-LD especially.

I'd would still like to see one of these HC2 stations sold off and turned into a repeater for WVPX so that they can better reach the Cleveland area.

h/t @Sammi Brie — Bridge News is buying WIVX and Millersburg translator W27DG-D for $1.5 million. Apparently WIVM-LD, WIVN-LD and WIVD-LD were not included in this deal?

Bridge News is the parent company of NewsNet (already on WIVX’s fourth subchannel) whose principal owner Manoj Bhargava is the owner of 5-Hour Energy drink, a minority investor in Gray Television, and recently moved to purchase stock in both Cumulus and Audacy.

If so, does that mean This TV and Retro will be going away?
According to the TitanTV listings for WIVX-LD, unfortunately, yes.

The subs will be cut back to just 3... NewsNet, Sports News Highlights, & Shop HQ, all of which maybe presented in 720p HD.

I scanned not long ago when they were on and was amazed to find this new station. Then they were gone, but the "dead" channel is still there on my lineup. I should just wait and they will come back on over this channel, yes?
