KEXP Buys KREV

As of this post the station seems to be broadcasting dead air, don't know if it'll end up returning a few minutes later just like the last time I posted on this thread but this is the 3rd time I've experienced either dead air or no signal since I've started paying attention to this station. And I only check once every few days when I decide to fiddle with my radio.

Fairly decent I would say. 25mi away, can pick it up indoors without fully extending the antenna on my P27. Just have to angle it correctly. Very good compared to pre-Sutro Tower, it was hard to get a clean signal without static previously.

With that said it does seem just a tad bit weaker right now, but it's also raining outside so that probably accounts for it.

Question for JamieA if he is allowed to answer: will KEXP upgrade 92.7 processing or is the on site equipment good already?

If the March 19 launch date mentioned upthread is still good then AutoPilot has less than two weeks left on the channel.

I would have loved to have been in the Bay Area for the switchover, but it's just not possible for me right now.

The launch date of Tuesday 3/19/2024 "made official" for KEXP programming on the new KEXC -
(corresponding date of call letter change was previously announced in December 2023:

Current Listen Live link for KREV: KREV

Direct streaming address: >http://ice42.securenetsystems.net/KREV<

Future Listen Live link for KEXC (using KEXP Seattle's stream for now): Listen | KEXP

Direct streaming addresses (substituting the "KEXP" call letters with "KEXC" - still works) -
(will update next week after switchover):

Will be listening on the nineteenth, don’t have recording capabilities unless it’s just a smartphone.

Hopefully someone will be capable of doing so.

Wonder if they’ll end up on Nielsen ratings like they are in Seattle.

HD is up on KREV now. Also, ERI antenna in service. Any anecdotal performance feedback would be interesting. Thanks!
You owe me one. (Not a big one, but having to listen to that hip-hop music for 90 minutes has blown my tinnitus into overdrive. I'll take an official KEXP-branded geoduck, if any are left over from the last SMDD* drive.)

Just finished a round trip from the Redwood City hills, through San Carlos east of 101, to Redwood Shores adjacent to the Bay, and then back via a different route. Your signal can now be received where I live, both in the car and on a classic FM tuner that's totally analog. (I'm listening to it right now, in mono. It's not a clean fuzz-free signal, but it is stable. In stereo it turns to trash. In the car it's now clean enough to track door-to-door, and HD does kick in fairly quickly and stay locked in most of the time. As soon as I got out of the hills, the signal was very solid, a big improvement.

If you want more granular specifics, PM me.
