It really isn't aimed at older listeners. It's aimed at the audience who grew up in the 80s and 90s.Is Audacy Happy with WCBS FM’s Morning show ? To me there is very little reason to listen to it.
WNYC would be in third place overall if you combine the FM and AM ratings, but they don't appear in those rankings. Are their listeners that old? They do run promos encouraging people to become a "legacy WNYC member" by leaving money to them in your will.Top 5+ demo rankings analysis from Research Director, Inc./XTrends:

So let’s address the elephant in the room. No, we’re not going to correct those folks who continue to call it Daylight Savings time. This is muchresearchdirectorinc.com

Or being at the bottom of the band like KFYI (550), KSFO (560), KLAC (570), KOGO (600), and KILT (610), where a 5 kW signal can cover more than a 50 kW signal would near the top of the dial.In terms of Cume, in January it was 10th... though some of these have the listenership they do by virtue of Full FM or FM Translator simulcasts.
You are looking at 6+ numbers. They are meaningless. It appears that IHeart’s music stations are doing considerably better in this market than those of Audacy, at least in the overall ratings.
You are looking at 6+ numbers. They are meaningless.
Unless you can see at least 18-49, 18-34 and 25-54, you can't judge any station's results.
KILT is no longer 5kw. Their legacy transmitter site was sold and taken out of service in early February, and the station will run 2.7kw at a different diplexed facility once construction is complete.Or being at the bottom of the band like KFYI (550), KSFO (560), KLAC (570), KOGO (600), and KILT (610), where a 5 kW signal can cover more than a 50 kW signal would near the top of the dial.

In many markets, the difference between #4 and #8 in a specific demographic is minimal.Research Director reports on those demos -- at least showing the top stations in each one -- and from that we can conclude that Barry's assessment is correct.
Which ironically is killing radio 📻Maybe actually it's just that everything else is tanking. Hip hop listeners are streaming and other younger listeners continue to migrate from fm so Seems like many formats that were at the top are now shockingly low
Race Taylor Should have been put in mornings he's an NYC icon!It really isn't aimed at older listeners. It's aimed at the audience who grew up in the 80s and 90s.
To my ears, it sounds like a Top 40 morning show in a small market, where these young radio people tell us too much about their lives and interests. They're not veterans like Scott Shannon and Patty Steele. But that probably says more about me than WCBS-FM.
Now we can all see what you're talking about:

Big drop for WCBS-FM
You are looking at 6+ numbers. They are meaningless.
Unless you can see at least 18-49, 18-34 and 25-54, you can't judge any station's results. Ad buyers don't look at those 6+ and 12+ numbers, which is why they are given away for free.
Beyond that, radio is not a "horse race". If you are in the top 20 stations or so in New York's MSA survey, you likely are making money. And many niche stations also do well, or they would not be on the air.
I agree. John Fox is more of a DJ & not a personality. You need in personality for Morning driveRace Taylor Should have been put in mornings he's an NYC icon!
