Having Bobby Bones in the morning on WGAR should boost WQMX quite a bit.
It does stink to see one less station in Cleveland being local in the morning.

"Nash" was Cumulus and it was as manufactured a brand you could ever find.I thought iHeart's Country thing was "Nash," or was that Audacy? It's so hard to keep track of who owns which branding.
Closest Nash station to Cleveland is WMIM 98.3 in Toledo."Nash" was Cumulus and it was as manufactured a brand you could ever find.

How long was she at WDJQ? Hearing some of the horror stories about management there from a few years ago, not sure if many people stayed there for long by either fleeing the place or being canned. She is a local, being a Kent State grad and previously working at WDJQ Q 92 in Canton
iHM is playing with fire as far as WGAR is concerned. Ditching the local morning show on a highly successful station is a stupid move, in my opinion.
WZAK blew up a rather successful local morning show in order to clear Tom Joyner, and their ratings improved. WNCX was a bona fide contender with Stern and even bested Lanigan at least once or twice.iHM is playing with fire as far as WGAR is concerned. Ditching the local morning show on a highly successful station is a stupid move, in my opinion.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
You better get used to it. Eventually local morning shows will be a thing of the past.iHM is playing with fire as far as WGAR is concerned. Ditching the local morning show on a highly successful station is a stupid move, in my opinion.

In PPM markets where Bones' morning show airs or has aired, the results are a mixed bag. He seems to be losing ground in his home market of Nashville.
The #1 station also runs a syndicated afternoon and evening show.Maybe. The #1 station in Cleveland runs a syndicated morning show.
Hardly a surprise when WSIX, WKDF and WSM-FM all beat each other up in the ratings (and WSM-FM's air talent, even their morning host, is syndicated by Westwood One). The irony there is that he's losing to another syndicated morning show (also based in Nashville).
And they're both being beaten by Jack, with no local personalities at all.
Syndicated shows are cheaper. No salary. No insurance. No trouble with talent.iHM is playing with fire as far as WGAR is concerned. Ditching the local morning show on a highly successful station is a stupid move, in my opinion.

WGAR doesn't need to hire anybody local for mornings any more than WKYC has to hire a late night host when there's a Jimmy Fallon available.Cheaper for who? Somebody pays Bobby. The station gives up local avails. That means less revenue for the station.
